22B - Ballina Co. Tipp

4 doors are better than 2 doors
Saw this lady on Sunday outside Goosers pub in Ballina / Killaloe.
Had huge Porsche brakes on it, UK plate.

It passed through my mind as the rear quarters looked a little funny.
If its not it was a damn good replica.

That's predator motorsports car that's the reg he had on my old 22b rep for the shows mad the brakes on that car in the pic are my old brakes that were on mine before he stripped it down and turned it into a rally car

It's real. That's 217/400 which was brought into the country recently. It has a front mount hence the location of the number plate.
It's packing a 2.35L 450/450 engine. The original came with it unmollested on a pallet.

Very nice , wouldn't be a fan of those wheels though

One of the originals were damaged two owners back. He couldn't get a replacement original so bought these with a custom fit. 22B offset wheels weren't easy to come across 10 years ago.

She's stripped and on a rotisserie. As the engine was out I decided to have a bit of a restoration carried out at the same time..

not up on rotisserie just yet. as will be using donor car first to see how balance is before 22b ha.

only back to work today.

and rotisserie will be unable to leave workshop after as will be used on other projects.

make your own Jamie, your a dab hand with the fabrication

Thanks Ciaran... I've been contemplating it... But not sure I trust my welding enough on a DIY rotisserie to hold my car sideways :p

Might just stick it out with it on its tall axle stands and me on my back :(

Made one many years ago and not that hard to make a good one if you ever used one, but plenty of steel in it which makes it dear and takes a while too... If you were only doing the one car probably wouldn't bother either Jamie.

Apart from that, would you want to have it easy - shouldn't there be hardship in a job to appreciate the end result even more... :1poke:
