A sad hello....

I would definatly get someone local to fit it for me. Im sure it can be done for less than 500 euro. Most people say its an easy enough engine to change. I suppose swapping all the ancillaries would be slow though!
 
I have an engine but its seized due to oil pump failure. The heads might be ok on it though
 
what part limerick you from martin.... sorry to hear of your trouble... if there anything you need let me know... i just 15 mins from limerick city

Thanks for the welcome guys! Im from Croagh, between Adare and Rathkeale.

Talking to a man this evening who may have an engine for me, hopefully! He suggested that if the head gasket was done, which it was in April 2012, that the head was skimmed and the values weren't and that could have caused the whole thing!

Im getting back to him at midday tomoro to see if he still has the engine. I'll keep ye posted on my progress!

Ah, that explains it! Well I have every intention of paying up but I have a big bill facing me at the minute so it'll be a while now!! :thumbsup:

Thats very reasonable.

Its only a bare long block. So you have to bare in mind changing everything over time.

Also then all the gaskets etc needed and their cost.

A tough start to subaru ownership.
Your very near my home part of the woods, I'm originally from the Croagh side of Ballingarry.
but living in Clare now. I know 2 lads in croagh who have scoobies too, an 04wrx and 00reg 2.0.

Ah it all makes sense now , collyb1 owned it , was looking for parts off me a few times nothing but a tire kicker, think he changed his name since, says it all really
 
So there was an engine put into the car before it failed this time?? i reading that right?
