Really that bad?

Ok so this is where im at now!

I have a deal done with a guy. He is John Hickey Motorsport in Killarney. He has a full complete engine that he brought in from Japan. It has only 40k kms on it and he is going to supply and fit it for €1,200. (cant believe im even saying this) :icon_cry:

I thinks its my best bet in the long run. I can buy the bare engine block from Jap Performance in Wicklow for €690 but the huge labour cost of transferring all my bits like turbos etc over would be big! And this way I get a full engine with only 40k kms on it. And i'll have my old engine for spare turbos etc..... Well I thinks its best anyway! Im dropping the car to him wednesday morning. I can't stand looking at it any longer up on a car transporter outside! A sorry sight! And now I have to go to the Credit Union for a loan to do it after I saving for nearly a year to buy the car so I wouldn't have a loan on it!

Sometimes life just sucks! :icon_sad:

Hopefully at least you'll be able to enjoy it now after all this is done

Did you come to an agreement with the seller?

john hickey knows subarus inside out, he built the fubaru mk 2 escort with everything subaru underneath :subaru:

Not exactly, he spoke to a solicitor and he was told I have no come back! He did say though he might be able to help me out a bit....

Ya know it's the weirdest feeling! I'm 34 now and I suppose for 15 years iv wanted a 2.0ltr turbo 4 wheel drive Subaru! I eventually came up with the few pound to buy it and was the happiest man alive for 2 hours. Then it kicked me into the b****x!

Don't know how to feel about it, even think when the whole mess is sorted ill struggle to be confident with it, I suppose time will tell! Even thinking of just selling it when it's fixed!

Feels like its turned into such a mess and all the good is gone out of it!

Martin it looks like a nice car. its painful now but after replacing the engine you will have a motor that will be good for you for a long time. Shop around for an engine to try and take the sting out of it. Hopefully this will not be too great a set back for you.

sorry to hear about your car man but when its all sorted out you will fall in love with it all over again and you will be glad you spent the money on it even if it seems unlikely now

as duffman said hope it soesn't turn ya off scooby's they are a great car and when you have it on the road again you'll get the chance to enjoy it,keep the head up man

Martin welcome aboard , like many here i can feel your pain but once
you get her sorted you won't look back

Keep the faith
