As above,
I have been lucky enough to be in a position to do a few nixers for employees of Mondello!
So I had built up a few credits for trackdays!
I'm using up my last credit on monday
Just in the skyline, She's got fresh brake fluid in her now, so no issues this time!
And I had her at low boost last time because of the fresh engine,
But she's getting loads of octane booster and full boost for monday!
Praying for a dry day
Dan

Bank holiday Track day, Monday the 5th, I just changed the Title,
There is some savage racing on there today (Sunday the 4th), Irish touring cars, formula libra, formula V, historics (i think)

Up this morning nice and early to get the car ready,
I find my 2 yr old son, in the guestroom ensuite bathroom
Both taps running, pplug in the sink and he's up to his ankles in water, water found it's way downstairs to the living room, bits of ceiling falling in!
Plaster coming away fro the ceiling, and the coving that goes all the way around is full of water and leaking everyfew inches
It's not the little lads fault, Even though he pushed his laundry basket out of his room, across the landing and into the spare room, so he could stand on it to reach the lock :wall:
I think I'll just duct tape him to his bed for the night from now on!
Anyway, back to the car prep!

It was an alright day!
Paddy's day was a bit of a mad one, A few sudden brake failures led to a spin and an off! and in finding my limits, a had a few more spins!
So I was under orders to be on my best behaviour today! No problem, I thought
First corner, straight out of the pits, on Cold tyres, the turbo spools up and she went right around, What a tit! this was the warm up lap!
Took off again, and all was grand, coming passed the pits and the pit lads were gesturing for me to calm down, (i was calm)
I used to have a lot of leaway with them, as I hadn't spun or cocked up in years (before paddy's day) So now they had to be strict with me!!
Kinda spoiled the fun a bit, My front tyres are just Pirelli P6000's (road tyres) and they weren't really up for serious hard driving, I tried the track tyres on but they are to wide, (i didn't realise that when I bought them)
So lots of understeer, scrubed the outside edge off the front tyres, and they over heated and turned to playdoh after a few laps!
This driving normal stuff (in a straight line) is quite boring
To top it all off, the boost controller needed to be turned up more and more all day to maintain 1.1 bar, oil and everything was grand, (same happened on paddy's day), so :dontknow: just thought "it'll be grand"
It wasn't, last session, Showing off to my sister's friend, and car got real smokey, not tyre smoke, nasty blue smoke, accompanied by a noisey turbo!
Lots of smoke!
I do know that at one stage in the cars build (well before CDA), the engine fell over and the turbo that was bolted to the side of it took the brunt off the impact, I think the compressor housing might have been slightly bend and as everything heated up maybe the comp wheel was rubbing the inside, and she finally had enough!
Cock!
SO new R888's for the front and a new feckin turbo before she goes out again! FFS :wall:
Never ends! forester still needs a new set of 235/40/18" track tyres, and new carbon lorraine track pads (about a grand total) before she see's the track again!
Dan

Fair play dan, you were on the full of the pipe today! Cheers for the spin also, really love the skyline now!!

Also thank you very much for the petrol for my uncles car, they really appreciated it and at least got them a good spin around the track without smoke!!

Fifa fair play!! :icon_pidu:
