UK STI? Doubt I'd be going up that high but all newages would be around about that mark would they?

yep...05 sti type uk!!!
a more standard sti would be better on fuel than mine i would guess!!!

I think Colm is right. I need to drive some and then make up my mind! Funny I've never seen your car around on my commute between Balbriggan & Swords or even in Drogheda, I spend a lot of time up there!

8.30 south every morning and guaranteed to be on m1 north from airport at exactly 5pm..
easy to spot as its the slowest damn scooby in leinster except for fridays..

your feckon mad marko

get yourself a tweak map on your simtek and tell them you want a fuel saver map at 120kph, it wont cost much and youll get your money back in the space of 2/3 months.

ask jp how much fuel he saved on his first tank!!

i dont know why lads have the option of two maps on the ecu and only use one really.

You have nothing holding you back kid.

Just buy the newest standard Sti you can afford and start enjoying it. I was like you when i bought my first sti. No overheads. I payed at the time €37000 for a 3year old minter and loved every minute of it.

Get one and enjoy it until you have to sell it.

As they say better to have had and loved then not had at all.

Best of luck with the New Sti.

Anyone know this car?

http://www.carzone.ie/search/Subaru/Impreza/sti/201130203570570/advert?channel=CARS

Hoping to bring this http://www.carzone.ie/search/Subaru/Impreza/2.0-WRX-/201134204136055/advert?channel=CARS for a test on Thursday. Plus I saw it up on donedeal for €5,000 privately so to be fecked if I'd be giving them anywhere near that sort of asking price. The thing that's annoying me though is I could have sworn this had WRX clocks when it was on donedeal. I'll have to check donedeal again and have a look at what mileage the seller had it at, just to make sure they didn't switch the clocks.

Never seen the first one before. It's a JDM so alot of lads would want it mapped before they'd buy it. Also the bumper with out the STi winglets and the splitter thats on it wouldn't be to everyones taste but that could be factored into the cost when buying if possiable. Looks nice.

The second one is a JDM prodrive style STi and has been for sale on and off for a couple of years now with different owners. Get a lad like ciaran RSRA to look over it if your interested to make sure everything is as it should be but I'd say it is. The clocks are original to the prodrive style STi as to are the side skirts, front grill and front bumper. Great cars the prodrive STi's. I've had 2 myself and can recommend them and yeah its on donedeal for €5000

There's a typeUK prodrive styles for sale on Donedeal that might site you better. Fueling is good for our country its price ok two. You will get it cheaper then advertised.

Best of luck.

I have a 97 wrx, spec greddy exhaust and 3 inch straight through centre section with a ball bearing turbo boosting at a bar. I drive from offaly to dub everyday in the subaru and i get about 500-550 kms (driving like a sunday driver and driving normally i get 400) to a tank and it takes around 80 euro. Hope that helped you out

If it were me looking ,

classic , Sti wagon .
Bug , prodrive style
Blob ,uk dccd model sti
Hawk , type uk sti
hatch , type uk sti

reason for uk models above is less powerfull means less on juice for the commute , not needing to be mapped also helps imo ,
they'd be my choices anyway

Cheers Eric. How'd you know the one in Cavan is a UK, no roof hatch? Anymore differences between the JDM and UK? The one in Cavan has near twice the mileage of the one in Cameron. :ponder:

@johnny..
that is the fuel saver map(1.1 bar)...
dont even touch the 1.6 bar map
going to get simon to sort it but everytime i put few quid aside, something comes up that i have to spend it on!!

it doesnt work like that marko

your car is mapped for 1.1bar with your foot flat to the floor on the accelerator and the same for 1.6 bar and i dont know why people would do this, its a waste of having a two setting ecu.

you need to get it mapped on one setting for when your crusing along at 120/125kph off boost.

jp is getting about an extra 100 kms out of a tank now after a remap

Can a newage ECU take 2 maps or will I have to get a simtek/ecutek?
