the 123. guys

123.ie do not insure modified cars, it says so in their terms and conditions. So be carefull who you get insurance with.

I'm insured in my 96 WRX for €1800 with ARB. I'm 25 with a full license for 7 years and 4 years no claims.
They seem to be a good crowd to go through. No hassle. My friend has his NSX insured with them and he's 26 with endorsements (was put off the road a good few years back). Think he's paying around €3.6k.

Did a lot of shopping when I got the Subaru and they were by far the best.

Im 26, full licence 8 years, 4 years no claims and ARB wouldnt quote me. The whole insurance system in this country is fooked.

Hey Andy,
For ARB you needed to use a broker !!!
Yes you can ring them direct but normally
they say no .......

Niall.

Insurance Again !!!!!!!!

I know its a sbject that everyone is probably bored with at this stage but I would like to add my recent experience.
I rang quinn as I am fed up with putting in all the details on various Insurance Companies websites only to get to the end and be informed that they dont insure that type of car.
So I rang them instead and gave them my details which were as follows 44 yrs old with 4 yrs NCB plus 20 years ownership of a Company Car.
All was going fine until I gave them the car details whice were of a 04 WRX .
At that point they refused to quote me stating that the car is a problem ,i asked why and was told it because of that particular car.I told them that was riddicculous considering my age and expereince but they wouldnt budge an inch.
Its pretty hard to understand considering I owned a wrx in the past .Sorry about the rant but when im considering changing my car its now the first thing I check as all Insurance Companies seem to only want to insure main stream cars.

Re: Insurance Again !!!!!!!!

AXA have an over 35s performance car policy (so I was told) I enquired about it when I got a WRX and sure enough they gave it to me - I'm fully comp for €670. Try AXA.

Maybe we should have a definitive insurance thread (stickied) where we can all put down our experiences in one place. i.e. who does and who doesnt. What age/what price and so on...

We don't really need all these new threads

Re: Insurance Again !!!!!!!!

@CarDriver     Don't ever consider changing your car to something you DON'T want. I think at 44 years of age your entitled to own watever car you want.....  And don't let insurance companies, the gaurds, or theiving scum turn you of that unless it threatens your life or family...............  RANT OVER

Insurance companies I think some of them just give you the frst figure that comes into there head. When I got my first celica years ago I got a quote of 6k to insure it.. I laughed an said its not a plane I'm insurin an walked out as I had it got for 1000's less anyway

Car Driver,
What is your job ????
I see you had a company car for 20 years,
If it has anything to do with driving your screwed !!!!! ie. company rep etc.

Im a photographer which as a profession has probarly one of the worst reputations with
insurance companies......................for some unknow reason they can not see the differnce
between paparazzi style Press photographers and professional (won't step out of bed
unless were been paid €€€€€'s there for never in a rush) photographer's.
So i used to always have my job as a generall operative (seen to be the safest).
Now im down as Store Manager ;)

Today i still can not get a quote from most insurance companies if im classed as a photographer

Niall.

Niallyboy.. you must be taking pictures of some right dodgy stuff when they won't quote you!! :D
