car lost power on m4 !!!!!!

ian said he know more tue but thinks it mite have slipped timing!!! hopefully not. with help of god its just maf sensor

I reckon you would have heard a bit of a clunk if the timing slipped and it would sound very rough when trying to start :dunno:

I think you are safe enough in thinking its the maf.

As said above if the original ecu was in it would have gone into safe mode but with the apexi the just cut out completely

was chatting ian today he said no compression so something wrong inside engine and gonna have to take out engine and take it apart to know full extent of damage, he is mad busy so prob next week before knows fully. great news !!!!!!!!!!!!! thats all i need and bought my first house and it will be finished in 4 weeks looks like. still gotta pay tiler and few more bills. this not a great week but ya never know united mite win champions league and sligo rovers win fai cup and get 6 numbers in the lotto and start smiling again :hang: :hang: :hang:

Its a savage looking car... any chance you could convince the wife that it needs a 2.5 forged build? Such bad timing with the house an all...the trials and tribulations of subaru ownership.. it never rains but it pours.. United will hopefully cheer us both up this month.. come on the double!!

Thats a ridiculous price for a tow-me and dave had a chat about prices a while back and he'll confirm this. Any local call should be no more than 110+vat. I do 60 mile runs for 200. you just got a bad sort.

when ur stuck at the side of the road goin nowhere...its difficult to bargain with a tow truck....people would think nothing of pissin 200 euro against the wall on a weekend and nothing to show for it....great money if u can get it

Id love to be able to charge that!!! all id need would be one local call a day, five days a week! Its out and out rape though.

totally agree with ya b4 but it happens in all trades i suppose.....
this guy probably just pulled out a figure and that was it ....take it or leave it !!!!!
knowing that hen wasnt gonna leave it stuck on m4 far from home...

Thats the problem with an unregulated industry-but people like that just give others a bad name. Actually must join as a trader on here-ill give prices on enquiry then.

the tow truck was expensive but 200 euro or stuck on m4 for day ya always gonna give it. actually got bill in post my credit card was charged 200.01............... that one cent must be the tip  and reason they took so long to come was they waited and made sure my credit card allowed transaction !!! bet if had said i was driving a merc it wouldn't have been a problem!!! i actuallt overheard the driver ringing another tow truck to see would he do a run for him as he was so busy, down to waterford to collect car and bring it to the airport 300 euro.....................

If you were charged 200 for a local call-how can he do waterford to dublin for 300??? :ponder:Cowboy!!! And ive never once waited for anyones card to clear-if i didnt respond fast someone else would.

I was charged €180 before to tow my car less than a mile up the road. Was in the middle of a main road with a snapped wishbone and the wheel hanging off so had to pay it. C*nt knew it aswell!

in fairness its a service where they know they can charge what they want but you need them so badly you wont argue!!!!!! im still waiting on my car they now think it is maf sensor.
telling ya this last two weeks has made less sense than reading my japanese instructions manual on quantum physics...................
