Afternoon All,
Bit of a story here.
This morning the steering on my 99 legacy b4 started pulling quite badly to the left after taking a sharp left turn at the strawberry beds coming up the steep hill towards clonsilla.I had to stop on full lock on the apex of the turn as there was someone in the yellow box. From that point the steering was pulling quite hard to the left. The power steering doesnt seem to be affected, the wheel is still fairly easy to turn although there is a slight increase in effort.
So i brought the car to fast fit in coolmine to have it tracked. From my explanation they were suspicious as to whether in fact it was the tracking.Anyway they brought it in & measured up,indeed the tracking was off,but they said it was the drivers side was off by more -2.8 as to -1.7 on the left.So i agreed to have it tracked.Car was then raised on the ramp & when the lad went to adjust the rear he found damage illustrated by the attached.
The damage is located on the drivers side, just foward of the rear wheel,I think its called a camber adjustment plate?
So at this point the guys informed me that the car is not in a road worthy state "a death trap" they put it.So rang the dealer who sold the car.I explained the issues with the car & have since emailed them the picture. They were very accepting of the problem. They said bring the car over 1st thing monday morning.Which is fine by me.
My questions for the members are:
What are my rights?
Am I entitled to seek a full refund? I traded in my old corsa plus cash against the legacy.
The warranty only lasts 3 months,Is the dealer still liable for the damage & indeed any other damage that maybe on the car?
Northside automotive want a snag list from me for monday, what else should i put on it?,any mechanics here want to give the car a going over?,available today, tomo & saturday
Lastly any other advice?
