do small litre cars try to overtake you??

Its like Dagnut said its all power to weight and also a 165 bhp sir would have most of that going to the wheels
were as a WRX would lose a lot it power true its complicated 4wd system

Just a couple of weeks ago i was in my type R haveing a bit of a dice with a mate in his gt starlet
and there was fook all in it, from a standing start over about a half mile i was only about 2 car lents ahead
and from a rolling start there was only about 1 car lent I couldnt Believe it :doh:
his car is running 159 bhp and mines is makeing 314 :(

so a few days later i decided to go out and buy a standard 95 gt
that im going to go the whole hog on :D

with a 5EFTE conversion (1.5 Paseo, Cynos or Sera) get it filly forged
then go for this kit http://www.rhdjapan.com/home/products/product_detail.php?int_product_id=3728
should be about 350bhp/per ton :dance:
 
And than try and put that down to your wheels even with your TRD diff, it wont catch a 4wd off the line if it gets a good start
 
You still should be dirting him paul..somethings not right there..your still about 50 bhp per tonne ahead with a shorter gear box..you should be pulling 0-60 in about 5 secs(probably less) he'd be lucky to do 6.5
 
Thats what i was thinking but there 0-60 is about 6.8 in standard form
maybe its up around the 180 mark :?

wanna be pushing 200bhp to beat a type r..a standard type r puts out 215 bhp per tonne...180 bhp glanza would be 200bhp per tonne..with a lot less torque..but as you say transmission losses are much greater on a 4wd..but id still expect the type r to be quicker over any distance
 
Paul, try get your hands on a 4wd Starlet, they are like hens teeth but can be got in Japan, now that would be a sleeper and a half :D

but i have looked into it and its not that easy, plus i dont think i could spend 5-8k on an engine and put it in that..

happens to me all the time but i just ignore um, but if i get one that comes up along side me reving the engine and staring at me while im doing about 40mph and he just wants to see will i drop and go i just give him the old your a w@nker hand signal..... :lol: :lol:

Be careful of the starlets lads...they could embarrass you. There are a lot of lads in Ireland running TD04 turbos.

I know a few lads in my area have 250-even 300bhp glanza's with the 1.5 engine and TD04 turbo's.
 
All that power in a FWD Starlet! Go hard into a corner and watch them hit the hedge in your rearview!
