Has anybody done any dynamometer measurements on same engine running on standard RON95 petrol and on Maxol's E5? E5 has a higher octane rating, which it is only a measure of the fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled manner rather than exploding in an uncontrolled manner. Octane rating does not relate to the energy content of the fuel. In fact, RON is raised by blending in ethanol, energy content per volume is reduced
I was just wondering whether E5 gives a real performace/power advantage or is it just a snake oil along these terms- real data would answer it beyond anecdotal evidence
