engine check light flashing?

You will not be able to read fault codes / OBD Scan on your car if you have Power FC in the car

The quick flash is the power FC throwing the check light from detecting a knock count (can be specified by the tuner but usually a default of 60)

Depending on how 'noisy' the car is, loose items in engine bay, gearbox, bad plugs, catalytic converter breaking up etc can affect your knock count. As a base for turbocharged cars, below 40 is ok, between 40-50 is borderline, above 60 definitely needs to be looked at. The threshold for NA cars is a different matter altogether.

I have seen cars with a knock count of 60 at idle (very noisy clutch) and I have also seen cars with their big ends gone with a knock count of 5.

Knock does not equal bollixed bearings, but it is an indicator that the car at that particular knock point has 1) too much fuel, 2) too much ignition or 3) too little fuel 4) bad engine 5) spark plugs not cold enough
