Fully Forged Engine For the Forester!

Fair play Dan. And I thought cash was tight for all you trades men.

I've been saving every spare penny for as long as I can remember, At first for the skyline but then I got the forester, I would have gone for the engine build sooner, but about this time last year I parked up beside brand new RS4, I smuggly said to myself "my car does 0-60 quicker than the RS4" they are quoted at 4.9sec, Mine is quoted 4.8sec
But then I spotted his Brakes! And that put me in my place! He had RS4 branded 8 Pots with big cross drilled discs, I may as well have been driving a micra with the "little brembos" (little compared to the RS4 brakes)
So I spent literally half of my savings on the front and rear Porsche brakes which cost around €4,500 so that held up my plans a bit, But I love my brakes!
If I don't spend it now on the engine I'll omly end up spending it on something sencible :wall: feck that!
This will clear me out, so if things get better next year then I can make the most of my strong engine and exploit it's full potential!
Plenty to look forward to!
Dan

Fair play Dan , balls the size of an elephant

I bags a spin in this mental forester at some stage in the near future , i ll take any sloppy 3rd, 4th , 5th :icon_blahblah: :icon_blahblah: :icon_pray:

I was just gonna say that I'm glad you're putting the cock's money to good use... should be some weapon when you're done... do you have a target bhp/torque in mind?

Wow .................that's going to be mental Dan

I understand all of the mods bar the Group N Engine and gear box mounts
what will these do and why ?????

Niall.

It might have something to do with the torque the engine will be putting out. There will be a bit more movement of the engine so it is better to uprate these as well.

I reckon you should get a sticker for this after its built and call it

"John" "The Cock Slayer"

Well done Dan, can't wait to see it.

The engine and gearbox mounts in my car are quite soft, comfort orientated, so with the extra 130bhp and 120lb/ft she has now over standard, the engine (and car) move like scruff's avatar! So the group N mounts are much firmer rubber so It'll give a much more precise and responsive drive! (I'm hoping)

Re: target bhp and torque, we will eventually go for around 480 bhp and over 520lb/ft But with serious response, that's why we are going slightly high compression ratio than normal! the higher compression ratio lowers the overall safe bhp figure but increases low down torque and responsiveness through the rev range!

Re: "the Cock" The money I finally got out of him has made my company account statements look alot less scarey, So I now feel that I can spend the money I had saved with out worrying about having to bail the company out with my car fund!

Thanks again for the comments
Dan

dan your off your head having nearly 500 ponys in your misses family car,it could become danerous in the wet when shes driving it,would you not be better off selling your skyline and buying a type r track car with big brake and put the forrester back to standard and safe for your family

I appreciate your concern man!
She'll have swithable maps! setting 1: relitively economical and maybe .7 bar boost and setting 2: Balls out 1.8bar animal!
There are alot of quick type r's around, Not so many foresters! I like to be a bit different!
I lad I know is thinking of selling his type r (bollixed engine and gearbox) I would love to be able to afford to put my engine and turbo into that and an sti8 6speed!
But that will have to wait,
If someone offered to buy my skyline for fair money (ie. at least what I've spent on it this year), Then I think I would buy a type r and go with my current spec, that would be savage in a striped out 1100 kg car, (my forester is 1500kg)

"For(r)ester" thanks

No brand new one, I'll sell the one one that's in her at the moment!
I would be afraid to sell to some one on here, Can you imagine someone buying the engine and something going wrong!
I'd feel terrible, even if it had nothing to do with me!
