the faster you go,the more the clock lies i was told. Some manufacturers are more accurate than others. Bmw for example. The reading can be out by 10% which makes the sat nav the one to trust

+1 stock size brand new tyres and the speedo is consistently off by ~5% against gps...most of cars are like that...

Just a small update..........didnt get much speed up this morning due to traffic but with the new tyres the figures are:
speedo sat nav
52 50
84 80
so the figures have closed up a bit. I reckon if i get a bigger tyre, I'll get the speedo closer to the sat nav
@scoobycolm I could be out a small bit with those figures +\-1 kph, it's hard to read speedo and sat nav together and not run into the car in front...
