What sort of parts are you after?

i want to know how much will be:

bugeye wrx 01 headlights standart or standart look a like ( not quad shiet )
bugeye wrx 01 carbon bonnet
wheels ( i know not subaru only place, but still )
front bumper 01 wrx

For wheels go Proparts or Sti tuning here in ireland or go up north.

For a carbon bonnet Proparts again they post to so you wouldn't have to travel but the is also English site that I'm sure if you google search will come up. There is a bonnett for sale in the subaru parts for sale section.

For standard lights try Sti tuning or one of the breaks here or up north.

With what you're talking about doing, full respray with all those parts, I assume you'll be looking at brand new wheels and with rubber, you'll be looking, I can't see you getting it to where you want it for less than €7k total. Thats a lot considering that you could get something like this: https://isdc.ie/forum/threads/31476/ which only has an asking price of €7k. Not sure if thats sold or not or even if red's your colour but its just an example of whats available out there with a bigger budget that you would otherwise spend on an older car.

thank you. thats why i am doing costings to find out how much would it all be.

well if we talk red and 7k region, then might as well go for this:

http://www.carzone.ie/search/Subaru/Impreza/LOOK-STI/3013287976702260/advert?channel=CARS

i know i might sound like a picky pri*k, but i really want to do it right this time.

Rob are you always pushing other cars against mine. Anytime someone shows interest in mine this red one shows up or a car that's not for sale yet shows up. Starting to wonder. Think your on commission with the red one.

I've talked to this lad and he knows what the car is. I've also sent videos. He has also told me he has viewed all cars on isdc for sale section that are for sale and wants a wr blue so to buy the red one and spray it blue fit a carbon bonnett would be over 9k.

He's right though if he's to go red Sti would be the one. X isdc members car that to.

Sorry it came across that way, no offence meant but its hard to give an honest opinion when you push your car in every thread I read. Although I'm not sure where I'm pushing another car against yours as it sounds like he really doesn't want your car regardless. I think that red one i posted is actually sold, I just used it as a reference for what he could have for €7k, i.e an 01 bug wrx or an 05 wrx, no contest for me personally.

I actually thought about it before I posted the above because I tried not to say it in a way that would belittle your car, it wasn't my intention. Your car is good value at €3k for someone that doesn't mind or wouldn't even notice the things that has caused Shadow to think it needs a respray, never seen the car myself so no idea what its like but regardless, it wouldn't be worth him effectively paying €7k for it.

At the end of the day, he's on here looking in general chat asking for honest opinions and in my honest opinion, he could get a lot more for his money with €7k than a 2001 wrx and spend a fortune doing it.

I personally think you have to be a picky pri*k when buying a car, at the end of the day you need to be happy with what you're buying. It took me nearly 8 months of viewing cars before I eventually settled on one :hammerhead:

If as you say, you want to do it right this time, then go for an STI now, there's plenty within your budget and its a much better starting point with a lot of upgraded parts over the WRX.

It doesn't. Ive seen it myself. Shadow talked about having to respray it (if he bought it) because he wants a 74F Sonic Blue color car.

If the red car is sold then why post it.

I'm trying to sell a car so I post when someone posts looking for one. I have that right as I am selling a car. You posted a classic Sti that might be for sale against it the other day. So once again a car advertised in competition that like the red one is not for sale by its owners own admittance in that same thread. I also do think at any point have I as you say pushed my car on anyone. I sent shadow a video of all the bad points of my car on his asking as he's in cork, there is 3 super market dings in the left side doors and one in the left wing. Dent man would have them gone in half an hour. There then the small matter of the colour. It's not wr blue and the wheels are silver. The bumper and bonnet nose have stone chips as do all Impreza cars of this year. I'm sure there's a view on your own car so he would like if he went for it to spray the car fully rather then just the front but as he said he hasn't written my car off yet. Especially as it has so many new parts. It's by far the best value for money bug Wrx out there.

I'm all for honesty so be honest all you want. I have always advised people in what I beleave to be true and honest I've actually post other cars and commented on other cars in this thread and others that I beleave might suit him and others. But yet you can say I push mine. I think not but you are pissing me off big time posting cars that either aren't for sale or maybe are or your not sure if they are for sale and saying they'd be a better buy. I'm all for you pointing people in the right direction for typeuk or JDM or Wrx to Sti and giving advice on mods ect. As you say you've never seen my car in person but you know where it is if ever you want to honestly comment on it.

It's not only the sale of my car comments like yours effects it's also the sale of the other 01 on Wrx that are for sale. Not to mension the classic wrx's for sale on the site.

I do fell that you post against my posts. The proof is in the fact you commented that I push my car. Lol. Obviously gets to you in some way.

A well. I cann't stop you been you. Post away.

Thanks for the comments on the car Andy, means a lot as you have seen it in person. It's true though he is looking for WR blue. :icon_cry:

Hate writing these essays as its now ruining Shadow's thread but I think this needs to be cleared up.

I said I wasn't sure if the red one was sold, someone mentioned the other day that it might be, no confirmation though. I posted it because I think its gorgeous and if he actually has more like a €7k budget, then he'd be crazy to buy a 2001 bugeye and respray it just because he doesn't like the navy when he could get a newer wrx or even sti in WR Blue by the time he's paid for the respray.

Also just double checked and as it happens, it was actually this thread I posted the same red wrx in before. And you might take note that I showed it was available before you had even posted in the thread. Not that I wouldn't have the right to post it regardless of where/when you posted that yours was for sale.

As for the classic sti, I assume you mean Brian's that was recommended here?? https://isdc.ie/forum/threads/31802/ .. Brian's car is a super example but you might take care to note that I actually haven't posted in that thread.. And I've been through my last 150 posts to make sure as I couldn't remember posting anything about any classic Sti..

Finally, this thread is in general chat so I and any other member are perfectly entitled to post our opinions on what he should r shouldn't spend his money on, especially when he's asked for opinions on it. He obviously has about a €7k budget so we are well within our rights to recommend cars in or around that budget in order to give him the best advice possible so that he can make a better educated decision. It's not the first time someone has asked for buying advice here, nor will it be the last, just because the advice doesn't suit your sale, doesn't mean its a personal attack on you...

Quite frankly your comments are unjustified and untrue, and I really don't appreciate the insinuation...

I stand corrected on the Sti brians car issue as I had I my head it was you so I apologise about that one but I still think that members who are not selling cars themselves should only post advice not comments like " this would be a better buy" especially if its not yet advertised as it knocks the other cars that are advertised on this site by members.

As I said I'm all for advising people. I also beleave in freedom of speech within a forum so as I said I cann't stop people passing comment.

But your right it's not good for an advice thread to have comments other then advice in it so to shadow I also apologise but I still think my car gets posted against. Just my thoughts and I'm intitaled to it. I was told by someone that they talked to a member from here ref my car and they turning them off it. He didn't say his name but said he expressed interest to a member. So you can understand me been hot headed and teatchy. If I found out for one second that it was true and that my cars didn't speak for themselves and that my full membership for ten years no longer meant anything I would have to question a few things about this club. And rob don't know why you where in my head I wasn't told who it was but I am pissed about it.

Thanks

People have always posted other people's cars for sale on here, you've done it yourself as well. Member's have always recommended each others cars as there is a familiarity and they know how they've been treated. Its not a slight on other cars though, just that they know the car in question was/is always well looked after. It also serves as an example of what you can get for your money as in my case with wjc's car.

If your car was some random car from donedeal instead, then you have to admit, we wouldn't be having this discussion and you'd probably agree that buying a perfectly good €3k 01 wrx and respraying it to WR Blue just because he doesn't like the colour would be lunacy, when he could take the respray money and get himself a 2002/03/04 WRX or STI for the same money. Thats all I tried to say to him, it wasn't a put down on your car by any means so I'm sorry if you took it up that way.

Eric thats a very strange thing to say, If someone posts that x car would be a better buy than Y, Thats "advice" Eric and usually what the starters of these threads want to hear.

Its just my opinion but i think you are pissed off over what you were told by a member and are a bit over sensitive now and being a bit bitchy with Robbie tbh..

You know well yourself that the op has no interest in your car when he is starting to talk about full resprays, wheels, lights and all just to get it to look like the car he wants, tbh i started to doubt how serious the op was and lost interest in the thread when i seen that, as its madness.

Now group hug

i am still here lads, i did not ran away, then again little bit of drama never scared me away ;) super busy at work, i am tired like a dog, but now i am off for next 4 days! :icon_headbang:. Tomorrow i have to go to dublin, sort out crap in embassy. have to take my puppy too as house owner will be doing some work inside, while we gone.

anyway, i am scaning donedeal all the time and the only car that was added recently was this:

http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3198797

looks clean, but very short nct and when people sell car with low nct i get second thoughts.. then again add silver color to it too ( looks not bad thought ). i called on R32 yesterday too, but nothing good, wont even bother looking at it. high price for a car that is claimed to have 290hp, only because he knows fella with same mods on his r32... :cuckoo:
