Jesus is that what the highest emissions band is?? I begrudged taxing an m3 I definitely wouldn't be able to stomach running one of them

Isnt that against some kind of european law? Isnt there anything we as a club could have done, like a petition or something? Maybe a letter to european ombudsman? Not even uk has that high taxes on cars.... Halp
 
That's bollox Tommy any engine can let go doesn't matter who built it, do you think that because yours is built it can't let go. At the end of the day an engine is just a mechanical device like any other so it can fail like another too doesn't matter how much it cost or who built imo
 
hardly the same scenario is it? You tune your 2.5 to 300hp and it left the factory with 265bhp, it lets go you only really have yourself to blame...you spend £50k on a car with a forged cosworth built engine , warranted for 395bhp you would expect it to last
 
50 k is buying the car also includes suspension mods, brakes interior etc, and cossie engine is 15k yes or see your point but no matter how expensive the engine it can still fail, it's still just a group of mechanical parts spinning in a block it still depends on all the same parameters as any other engine would ya not agree?
 
There's nothing Bullit proof About any engine in any car . Detention. Low on oil . Bouncing off the limiter. Find out why it happened make sure it doesn't happen again
 
I also guess that it depends a lot on the owner, some ppl drive their cars sooo hard and then they change oil once every 15k miles, coz thats what 'manufacturers said', not realizing, that manufacturer's 15k is done in motorway driving with constant speeds...
