thanks m8!! does anyone off the site know this car? its got a toyota turbo timer which confused me a bit!!

sweet lookin motor alrite! just a bit over my budget! is there anything i should look out for before i pay for this in full? know a fair bit about cars im just a subaru virgin! :hammerhead:

Run it on Maxol E5 with a good octane booster like Lucas or NF to prevent any serious knock due to bad fuel.
They run a fairly high compression engine for a turbo car and don't like low octane fuel at all!
Are you getting a guarantee with it? You should get a good full service done somewhere after you collect it and get a diagnostics check done just to make sure all the sensors are in good order, lots of people in the traders section very good at that work  The lambda sensor can be very expensive.
Check that the radiator is in good nick, I think they were a weak point on some of the early leggys. :ponder2:
Check that the brake callipers are in good working order, I think the 2 pots can sometimes develop sticky pistons after a few years.
Check that the idle is nice and steady when fully warmed up, if it's all over the place then it could be a sign that the MAF is on the way out.
The timing belt is due at either around 90K Km or every 5/6 years I think.
That's all the Legacy specific things I can think of for now :ponder:

:subaru:

thanks for the info m8!! no im not gettin a guarantee with it. gettin it at a good price though. drove it and it feels good and tight. brakes feel good.it ran out of nct in june 2007 though. another thing i found strange!! so that means gettin it tested twice over the next six months!!!

you buying it from a garage or private? i wouldnt buy from a dealer without at least a 3 month warranty. could die 2 days after u buy it. why do u need to get it NCT'ed twice in 6 months?

you can take a nct test 3 months early. So drive for 8 weeks and nct in march and you will have a 2yr 3month nct.
