Lowlife and stance nation

What are people's views on the styles in at the moment. Specifically when you look at subarus, I've heard of and seen a few Subarus that have been lowered completely on their arses with negative camber all round and tbh I don't get it? It's a Subaru, an AWD 2.0 Turbo made for driving why do people feel the need to turn them into low riding rust buckets? These cars are to be enjoyed on my eyes. Not undrivable!

Would anyone else agree?

I understand some of the styles on the European cars, they look well sometimes or even 1.6 Subaru wouldn't be bad but to ruin wrx and sti's on styling. Just madness ad heartbreak in my eyes.

What do you think? Each to their own?

Having a car scraping the ground wouldn't be my cup of tea, a few mil of a drop to give it a sleek look and fast road geometry is all ya need in a scooby :scoobyblue_1:
Each to their own though!!

Yea I agree why destroy the ground covering abilities of a wrx or sti by slaming it im getting eibaches fr my wrx bout 30 mm lower thats enough

Not for me... some look well... but in this country I can't see why anyone would bother especially with our roads. :cuckoo:

Scooby's are B-Road warriors... and dropping them til they scrape the ground makes them pointless!!

I've loved and owned scooby's for nearly 10 years and I was the same at the start, it must be blue with gold wheels and big spoiler, but when your around them that long and you go to meets and every car looks the same it gets boring, I love the low rider look now and the euro look .

I bet you change your mind in a year or two

I love the look of the low stance on a scooby.

I'm on the fence myself weather to do the low stance or not.

True, lowering is my plans. Mainly performance wise over styling. Some do look well a they are worth looking for inspiration but lowering it so much it's not worth driving? Buy a 1.6 me thinks?

i like race car low , but not arse scraping with slanty wheels . :icon_hang: agree it defie's the purpose of the car . some lads are more intrested in "show" than "go" . personally im trying to get a bit of both but im too low atm and need a proper setup .

also with the state of the b-roads in this country the pot holes lumps n bumps can only do more damage and cant be a good thing .

Ideally : bring her down a bit but still be able to drive her on .

Mac mac fairly said it there which would link in with in my point, if you want a showcar why buy the more expensive as more powerful version of you can't get it's full value.

I don't understand any cosmetics mods that compromise the cars performance, I don't get dump values, loud exhausts for the sake of being loud. Utterly pointless.

Oh and giant wheels..they ruin the cars handling

Wrc classics ran 18s it helps with the handling but ruins the ride alright.

I like having the car low but still be able to take it down a back road flat , If I catch a bumper of something it means its to low.

As for the stance cars, some of them are class to look at but wouldnt do it to my own . Id say the wagon in that vid is horrible to drive , it even has quick release bonnet pins fitted to the bumper so he can take it off if needed

Thats not what an Impreza is for .........

I'm sure it helps on rally stages where the prime objective would be overall grip, on a road car ride is part of the handling, if its too stiff and crashy it's not as compliant over bumps...suppose it personal preference as well, but the car is set up from the factory with standard wheels increasing the size will generally make it worse.
I've never driven an intergrale like the one you had but they are suppose to be really well sprung from the factory, from my experiences with coilovers making them a bit softer makes the car faster on irish roads

My old mx5 turbo...

after driving the forester which is 60mm lowered I can't honestly say I wouldn't go back to that low on a hurry. I never had problems with bottoming out or scraping unless on those tiny hump speed bumps but it was a right pain for comfort, back was constantly in bits , id regularly get air of the seats, cats eyes were a nightmare, and it was just so difficult to get out of the car physically .
