Peter, I'm very sorry for your loss and that of your family. Hopefully the tributes on this site, and indeed on many other internet sites, give you all some consolation and an appreciation of the entertainment and enjoyment Martin brought to hundreds of thousands of people both here and abroad.
Since I'm not a full member, I can't see your email address to send you the picture. Can you send me your address to doggy_ae111@yahoo.co.uk and I'll gladly forward it on to you? That photo was taken at my second Skerries, the Loughshinny MC website talks about crowds turning out in their thousands to cheer on the local hero and I remember the excitement at that race when he won his home race in front of a very appreciative home crowd. I think the burnout in front of the grandstand captures both the respect the guy had for his home crowd and also the high regard in which they held him. I certainly take my hat off to these normal guys performing incredible feats and we are privileged to be able to be a part of the spectacle.
RIP #45
