My fans not working

I've noticed the last few times out on a spin and stop in traffic I've noticed my temperature gauge goes up from half go the next line. And the fans don't cut in. What would the problem be

Lazy thermostat maybe?
Wouldn't be a bad call to change it out. Can also buy a cooling thermo so they'll kick in earlier

Does the fan work at all? Check power to the motor if the radiator fan and also the fuse.

Idle car turn on ac the fans should kick in straight away if they do there ok and probably coolent temp sensor

Could be a fuse , could be the ecu temp sensor not bringing them on , could be the fan relay be very slim ,

Thermostat wouldn’t cause it not to come on as that’s a mechanical part

Yeah, i glanced over it only. I was only out of bed, in between night shifts 🤣 lol

More than Likely the fan motors as they were a variable fan speed and the bard goes in them and they don’t cut in .
Plug the black and green connectors in under the dash it put it into check mode and the fans and relays should cut in and out with just the ignition on

OK thanks for yer help I'll go looking dis evening so and see. So the green and black connectors under dash ill try that

The variable fans were an issue on the N12 rally cars when they came out so just have mine on switch now.
Not suggesting that for a road car but merely pointing out that it was an issue on hawks.

As Joe said above damo the motors give bother check with the plugs under dash should identify issue

So plugged in the green and black plugs and relays are clicking and fans come on

that’s a good sign , need you check ecu coolant temp sensor with with a scan tool see what it’s doing , although they rarely give trouble if it’s telling the ecu the engine temp is cooler than it actually is, the fans won’t come on ,
Not saying it’s definitely that but need to check it out

OK ill get someone to plug it in and see what's it doing and check that

As barry has said both fans are working then so it’s a signal issue plug in a see .
Your coolant levels are good I guessing . After a set spin. Get out with the bonnet open and see are the fans running at full speed. As that’s what stops the turbos climbing after the thermostat opens .
When was the last timing belt and water pump change

Ya has to be signal issue but I'll get it plugged in. Ya coolant level is perfect. Ya must try that after a spin and see are they running. Timing belt and water pump done 4 thousand kms ago
