To be honest lads I've not really made up the cost of the trip so I'm adding it as i go along here. The ferry was €240 which was cheap as I know you can pay €400 +. I live nearly 200 miles from Rosslare so this and petrol in europe was €400 odd.The motorway petrol stations were €1.69 for 98 and if you go off the motorway to a village you'll get it for €1.53 If you were just heading to the ring and home straight you'd use alot less petrol. The ring it self was €24 a lap which was only €12 when my mate was over a couple years ago. I got AA european cover. A car under 6 years and being an AA member anyway was €99. Its more if your car is over 6 years and not a member. Just got it for peace of mind really. Then you have to factor in places to stay and food etc. Really if it was a straight trip to the ring and back again it would all work alot less than it cost me but we went to 4 differnet counties. You can get a top place to stay for €90 for a twin room. Tolls in France are nasty. Must have easliy spent €50 + on tolls, we paid €12.50 at one toll alone. Its a pain at the unmaned ones as you have to get out of the car to get tickets, sterring wheel on the wrong side
