Hi all , just after joining ! Got myself a classic gt turbo ( had 06wrx and classic wagon before ) It's a members car 2000 mica blue , seen it around Gorey for years and has a few isdc stickers . Clutch is slipping ,got second hand one with it. But Putting a new excedy one into it . Car had rolling road print out little over 250bhp , although that was a few years ago ! Clifford alarm and turbo timer but not sure how to use remote start :(

Welcome along.

Make sure your flywheel is in good nick and centre bearing is ok before fitting that clutch.

With car running try pressing the Clifford button twice and then the 2 star button.
Remove key and lock car.

Then the 1 star button should remote start it.
On mine I have to prime it like that every time.yours might be different?

Sorry for the hijack
Graham if the car is left in gear will it still start or is there some switch in the gearbox to prevent it starting

wrx

Welcome along, still have the WRX? I'm always looking.

No sold 2.5 a few years ago , got classic wagon over two years ago then had to sell it due to house renovations snowballing on me last year ! It was a sad day selling her but knew i would get another classic when funds were raised for one .

Not 100% but I never tried it.
Think there is a handbrake switch though.
Must try it in gear some time while I'm at the wheel!! :)

Not sure yours has a turbo timer mine doesn't.
I have to lock mine after I prime it for remote start, turn car off with lock button.
You may have that function on yours that it will run for a few minutes after you alarm/lock car.

I'd suggest getting the flywheel skimmed either way or you will get judder when moving off in first gear if it's worn.
Means doing job again and removing box to cure it!

If i press boot release button twice while engine is running , get out and lock it , it will tick over for a min or so ?
Not sure what clifford alarm it is .

I think i will take your advise on the flywheel , last thing i want is that to happen .

Thanks

Theres the thread from when Luke the last lad bought it with some pics in it
was tempted to go buy it myself when I seen it for sale a few weeks back
Id say you got a bargain there even if it needs a few bits doing as it was a well minded car from the previous owner:thumb:

I love it to bits and will be keeping her for a few years as a daily driver once ive sorted it out .
Such a fun car to drive for the price of a years tax on my old b6 s4 !

yeah I have one 6 years and has given no trouble at all
They really are a very cheap car overall for the performance
wont drop in value either

Yes its Mervin Melias old car.

Had it for a long time.

Highly highly advise you to skim flywheel, new bearing and rear crank seal.

Putting clutch onto used flywheel is not wise. Huge chance of judder.
