Yeah in fairness i was a while looking for mine..looked at a good few bangers..Its funny how many people out there describe the car as mint and running 100% and then you go look at it and the things in bits..Very frustrating..But as you said buying one that needs an engine is a very good idea..At least you can build to the spec you want and you know what bits are going into it and by who..
Anyway sorry for the off topic..Best of luck with the search sweetcakes..Il keep an eye out for you.

Did you buy yours with a bit of a spec and mapped? Or did you buy it pretty standard? Virtually none of the adds I've seen mention having the car mapped and have induction kits and all sorts of mods stuck on the cars
Thats the most appealing thing about building your own alright, I can pick the builder and the bits that go into the engine, gives you a little more confidence, especially as I'd be responsible for the block from new effectively so no need to worry about how its been treated before.
Appreciate you keeping an eye, if you hear of anything, then let me know
