Getting shafted by work.

Been transferred to Athlone.

Not do able as a daily commute so will have to live in Monday to Friday at cost to me.

Not happy. :icon_cry:

Have in for a transfer but everyone else has to. There moving near 200 personnel but have a block on transfers outside of the restructuring for now.

Up and down on the bike not be cheaper than living in.

:smokin:

Could be worse could want you to work for nothing and owe you time off.

Bike is cheaper the car but still around €35 a day with tolls I'd say. Around €150 a week. Don't have it. Based on that it cost €95 to live in. Don't have that either. Not to mension wear and tear on the bike.

Oh yeah I was thinking car. Lol

That's a bit better so.

ah that'd be crazy mileage.... time = money afterall like...
but athlone isnt exactly a savage place to live in either lol...

sorry to hear eric, there's always something that messes things up for ppl ;(

Me and a mate have tested the motorway route via the toll and via the old road-ie:get off at kinnegad and back on at kilcock-there isn't even a minute in the difference-the old road and motorway run parallel for that section anyway. That was in artics though so limited to 90kph.

Used to travel that Road when I lived in mullingar but not since the motorway went in.

Going to do a dry run next week to see how much it cost up and back on the Africa twin and how long it takes.

No one you can car pool with?

No one local to me And to be honest it wouldn't work anyway as our start times differ for different reasons.

May be light at the end of the tunnel but won't know for a few weeks for sure.

:multijump: I did that one night in Kildare

Nearly got me six months

One of the best nights in my life.

The old road on the bike mightn't be a bad spin. Wouldn't be the best in the rain.
Hope everything works out for you

crappy news pal :icon_sad:

i know its not much but its better than nothing, think of all the people who would gladly travel any distance to get a few bob these days.

bike would be a nice option but you have to think of those dodgey january and december dark winter evenings when its pissing rain. bad enough in a car but id say its life in your own hands on a bike.

sale of the wrx would have been handy now i guess

i hope all works out well in the long run for you bud

Can you not stay at the barracks

No room in the barracks at the minute but if a place opens up I'll have to look at it as an option but not ideal. Have a four year old. As of next Friday I'll have a wife to.

So trip down monday, back friday and living in cost would be €100.

Not easy when there is kids involved, Bike is not really a solution because of shitty weather.
If your hours were reasonale or could maybe be worked around a bit, would it be possible to work in hours over say 3 days like in a factory??? or maybe if you could finish at 4pm you would be home in what 1 -1.5hrs??

Sure elaine hasn't work in a year so one income doesn't go far. Goes even less now but yes I should be thankful I have a job that has been hit with pay cut after pay cut and as soo. As they say they won't touch the pay any more more you and you loose money that way.

Subaru once again has to go but fu*k trying to sell it, so looking at threading it now against a diesel for the winter month. Only lucky the weddings next Friday. Any money that we get from that will help buy the diesel .

A well I still have my health my familY and my friends so it coul be worse.

Five years to the end of my contract and then bye bye Army.
