Superficial damage only Gerry!
Small but of surgery will fix it

Thats not so bad so. As long as its not a right off. Could he drive it back home. As dec or anyone thats been on the ring will tell you its a dangerous place no matter how good of a driver you are

At least he won't have to pay for barrier repairs! Unlike someone else I know of...

If your talking about who I think you are, despite the crash or the car or "jeep" that was been driven at the time, he would out drive any of ye lads an any road.

If your not my bad .......may be just bad timing

thats a throw away statement baz, as good as dan is as a pilot(and i have a lot of respect for his driving) i can think of atleast 2 atleast! guys here with motorsport experience that dan would look up to.

I realise how my post comes across and should have been worded differently alright , just was a bit pissed off at the time is all.

fook me that was a nasty video al-right

regarding Dan
Sorry to hear
Not nice for that to happen
hope he gets it sorted easily enough
I also don't think anyone was inferring anything about him
all that is old news lads
leave the past in the past
it doesn't do any good for either club I.M.O.

For everyone in the dark, a former ISDC member, Dan Forester Sti, crashed his forester at the ring sometime over the past few days. I personally feel sorry for him as its never nice to see something like that but I sincerely hope that this makes him realise that he's not invincible on the road and able to handle any situation like he has previously claimed on here. He got away lucky as noone was injured, although it may be expensive to repair the foz and the crash barriers if they are damaged but thats the risk you take on track. Hopefully he gets it sorted.

Any this wouldn't be different if it was any other member- we all have pity for any man who crashes their pride and joy, So just becasue it was Super Dan we cannot have an opinion? Fook that. He milled a lovely car. He made one vital mistake- It's the Ring, not mondello where he's been around a few thousand times at this stage. You take it a little hander over there considering you are in Germany not on a race track in Leinster. Glad he wasn't hurt or didn't total the Forrester as it's a lovely bit of kit and a credit to the man, I'm sure it'll be back as good as new soon murdering a set of Toyos in Mondello.
Cheers
John

My God that was a nasty smack. Every time I think about getting the Ring crossed off my bucket list I find one of these videos to change my mind. Ouch. Hope all were ok after.

there have always been accidents at the ring man and as long as there is 22km of mountain race track open there always will be both race and road cars, the track is so complicated it can catch out the best in the world in the best vehicles in the world and has done ,from experience the advice i always give lads goin to the ring is to take your skill level on your best day as 100% you need to drive the ring at about 75% drive it with the respect it commands and you will for the most part stay out of trouble and have the best trip of your life ,dont let it put you off goin i bet if you asked anyone who has gone accident or not they would say they will go back

Em, I don't really know what to say to that John? I never said people couldn't have an opinion? People are entitled to say what they feel on the forum (within reason of course), thats why the thread is still open for people to post so I don't understand why you think that I meant people shouldn't have an opinion, I don't think there's anything in my post that impled that?? :dontknow:

Jaysus Robbie I didn't mean to imply that at all. All I ment was that a few posts seem to be avoiding that fact that it was Dan untill you posted up that it was him. I was just saying that just because it was Dan some people felt that they couldn't say his name. It was common knowledge what happened by 5pm sunday and it was bound to come out so why not just say it?
If he was here himself he would have blurted it out 10 seconds after the impact (not that i want him here to say it)
Hope this clears it up
And before anyone comes on to fight his corner I'm not really interested in an arguement, :snooty:
Cheers
John

i dont think Dan would mind, painful to see anyones pride and joy messed up, all fixable but will cost a bit to put right i would say

Ouch! Would it be Japan for all the parts because of the model? Everything is fixable, getting it done right is the problem! At current market value would the insurance right it of beacuse it looks a costly repair?
Still, not nice to see any mans pride and joy in that state- especailly a cracking car like it. :icon_cry:
