Just thought id bring this topic up again as ive come to my own conclusion/opinion on E5.
I had my car mapped for 95RON + Half a bottle of Lucas back in last september/october.
Shortly after that E5 was released to many Maxol garages. I didnt get a chance to try it for a while as there was no garages near me.
The next job i moved onto was up in Drogheda which has a Maxol that sells E5, so i started filling up there all the time saving me using my stock of Octane booster.
At ther time the car seemed to run very smoothly on Either 95+booster or E5 on its own so i opted for E5 and had run the car on that since around November untill the last week when the Drogheda job finished.
So out came the Lucas and back to the Statoil down the road from me. The first half of the tank was routine shopping driving etc so a light right foot was used.
Then to my surprise about the half tank mark, and a bit more stick from the right foot, the car came alive with an eager pull of torque from right down the rev range that i forgot was there. Some more testing proved much more power was seemingly available than with the E5 fuel and also a smoother throttle.
Anybody else notice this?
