Oh no another post on E5

em ok great you'll have a rocket..........

as was raised .............

Wat is the consistancy of 95RON?? That will have the same issues...........???

Unless of course you think E5 can be 99. 96. 91 RON on different days?????????

Well they get drivin like subarus and if was likely to cause damage certainly would done so with a melted piston............
Yes but as you know map leaving a margin for safety so it will probably never affect their cars cause the standard ecu's have fairly good knock control so will pull timing. But if your on a aftermarket ecu it wont pull timing you will still have the margin of safety left in there from the mapper but if the fuel drops below that you could be in serious trouble.

Anyway I am going with 95 plus booster in my car and it will still be a rocket so not really worried.

And either way with above comment equals safety factor STILL meaning E5 the better fuel regards results.............

Well 95 isnt relying on bio ethonal to boost its octane rating.

I dont think E5 is quite that low but its not what its advertised as which 99.2ron thats coming from people who tune and build big power cars but hey what would they know?

I dont think ecu tek maps are locked out from other tuners like maps on motec or autronic I maybe wrong though.

Yeah very true I forgot it was Andy who mapped it. Would be better to have the orginal mapper look at it to compare.

@Damo when will Andy be over again then??

I will throw my pennis worth on this .E5 is not 99 ron at most bought from busy garage would be 97 ish add NOS race and you will get 99ron .But you will have to get the car remaped .I dont think any fuel in this country is 95ron at the best of times as most fuel companys use each others .E5 is the best we have for the moment and i have used many different fuels and additives and the best my car felt was on E85 so much TQ was great but was useing so much fuel would not use it again i a race car, but i am buying a road car soon and will use it on that bigger inj and new fuel pump and fuel filter remap and the way petrol prices are going cheaper to run in the long run.
I will be running my new engine on E5 plus nos race, engine will be fitted and up and running early next week 2.35cc with new gearbox going to run 450 bhp or so as the car is very light .

Philip.

Just to add my T'pence worth ;) I have my V5 Type r mapped for E5 and I have to say I'm delighted with the performance of it I feel it's running better now than when on 95 oct with no flat spot's through excelleration and feck all knock.Bob Rawle mapped it and said he only had to pull the timing out by 1degree which I was delighted with

Ok lads had my evo mapped today on 95 with half a bottle of booster. It has a forged 2ltr engine with a fp green turbo it made 466bhp and 430ft lbs of torque. So I am happy to use 95 plus booster.

And another show draws to a close..............

Back to SUBARU :subaru: :subaru: :subaru: :subaru:

Except Funnyclub.....

BTW way great figures man good luck with her..................

@Damo,well then maybe if ya want we can get him to have a look at it then if that suits????
Ah he's over doing a group buy up north so nothing to do with myself. Would be alot of effort to travel up etc and like you say your car is running well on the E5.

Damo

I sent the inquiry to Maxol about real octane number on E5 on their stations - never have been answered.
