My type R picked a great time to let me down yestersay...on the way to a wedding!
I popped the bonnet and saw that the bottom rad hose had just slipped off the radiator. I hadnt burst or split, just slipped off. So I limped to a nearby friends house and parked it there over night.
I went back to the car this morning and filled it up with new coolant thinking everything will be grand after that but the temperature on my Power FC went up to 120 degrees. I have a Zerosports thermostat which is suppossed to open at 80 degrees. I checked the thermostat in a kettle of hot water and is does open. The fan kicks in but the temp just keeps rising. The new coolant started to boil then.
So, now what? Is it the water pump?
