Arent those Alcons usually fooked off them because of the price of the pads? Maybe i am mistaking but werent they 500 quid or something stupid??
And just wondering how the suspension was better than the v5/v6 on STI inverted struts?

Well I suppose if you can afford a P1 in the first place you wouldn't be too concerned with the price of brake pads. Pagid, Ferodo and Mintex make pads for Alcons anyway so they are totally affordable.
Prodrive had access to every available suspension part in the STI catalogue and tried every conceivable combination of springs, struts, bushings and damper rates until they came up with the optimal combination for UK roads. I have never been in any car with better handling which rides so well. Because custom made parts like the rear spoiler and front splitter were made in such small volumes economies of scale could not be reached making these one off parts very expensive. The rear spoiler cost in the region of 2k alone! No other Subaru got such unanimous praise from the motoring press and the fact that it has held its value better than everything outside the 22B is tetstment to its enduring desirability. Enough to tempt you back?
It will be on my shortlist along with the Focus RS 340 GGR and TTS. Hey did you rent the TT RS in the end? If so what was it like?
no ended up getting an economy rent...missus put the brakes on..the SLK cost almost a grand with petrol so I reckon I'm going to join a club.

My wife's first cousin was a director of P1 the car club. She still has contacts in the business if you're thinking of something along those lines but I think min membership is around the 10k mark per annum! I am lining up a drive in an M6 convertible (friend of friend's car). If that comes off I'll be delighted. V10 with the roof down yes please!

P1 might be a bit out of my league. This one looks good
