I was never going to claim my own insurance but for some reason when I rang them to inform them of this she asked me if I was going to claim from them??? I told her i'd be claiming against yer ones and she said oh right then we don't have to do anything.

Yeah it was skimming it - I NEVER had the car that far over the path before - always stop at edge because kerb is not even height - at certain spaces the splitter hits the path and gets damaged & bounces car back - she could have destroyed front too in another space...

Gardai are NOT interested in prosecuting her - they said I can if I want but I get that impression from talking on phone. So even if you are caught red-handed you still get away if you pay up to repeair. So she in not punished at all for leaving scene and trying to get away with it. Without CCTV I would have had a big repair bill and no one to blame.
 
If they won't prosecute her then take their advice and you do it. I wouldn't let her away with even if the useless guard you spoke to is willing to!

That's a disgrace what she did! Someone hit my car in work last year and drove away. Car was parked in the only CCTV blind spot so no way of proving who did it. Glad you caught the bitch with yours!

Go into the station in person ask to speak to the duty Sergeant or super sometimes who you speak to on the phone might give the impression they are not interested so you go away

don't

go in but be calm & state your case this is not your fault your the injured party here

get to her car and take her policy number down and insurer and broker ect from the disc then ring her insurance comp and say you watched it from ur apartment and have her reg and and video evidence to prove she did it also take a pic of the damaged bumper that hit your exhaust
