Rear-ended by hit-and-run woman driver

Put up a wee sign saying cctv in operation, by the way guard that sign is there this last twelve months, apparently if ye don't have a sign up its not takin into account in court. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong there) believe me lad you're going to have a battle on your hands with this one.

Your insurance company should be fighting this for you, dunno why the would take that stance when you told them the craic

Unbelievable, what a dirty little c*nt of a woman, glad you had cctv, think I saw your car last week in traffic in lucan? Hopefully that tramp had insurance and show her no mercy....

Garda will be very intrested in that cut & dry leaving the scene & possible criminal damage

Gardai are NOT interested in prosecuting her - they said I can if I want but I get that impression from talking on phone. So even if you are caught red-handed you still get away if you pay up to repeair. So she in not punished at all for leaving scene and trying to get away with it. Without CCTV I would have had a big repair bill and no one to blame.

geoghan with all due respect that is bollix, if u go in person to a garda station to make official report of hit and run accident with cctv there is a duty on the guards to investigate the case regardless, the only accidents they won't investigate is if the car park is not a public place- so go to local garda station asap to make official report, give them COPY of footage and get guards name- they can prosecute her and it will stand to you that its been reported to the guards when your dealing with her insurance company- hope you get sorted man because the same thing happened to me many moons ago

Hopefully she is insured.

If not youre going to have to claim from your own insurance.think if theres any problem with her insurance company yours will chase them on your behalf. Thsts what they tty old me when I had accident before thst easent my fault

As above go into garda and make a complaint they will have to follow up.

MAKE SURE YOU GET STICKER ON WINDOW RE CCTV

best of luck hope all turns out well

If they won't prosecute her then take their advice and you do it. I wouldn't let her away with even if the useless guard you spoke to is willing to!

Don't know if I want more stress with prosecutions and court cases and all that. Have to think about it.

Could she be foreign.. and not speaking english at all? Just thinking... that obviously doesn't explain the bitch, but you never know what she may be thinking like.

Yes she is Latvian I was told.

get to her car and take her policy number down and insurer and broker ect from the disc then ring her insurance comp and say you watched it from ur apartment and have her reg and and video evidence to prove she did it also take a pic of the damaged bumper that hit your exhaust

Did all that apart from contacting her insurance.

Yeah they were like - prosecute, well you can if you want... but they didn't see the video! I was told I should have shown them it.

There is a big sign below apartments. Put there by builders, not by me, but would that do?

What is this "glockenspiel" word everybody is using - did I miss some new zeitgeist :ponder2:

Were you turning onto N4 from ring road at Woodies flyover in blue STI?

this is exact advise

take details down/photo insurance disc and dont even bother talking to her.

obviously you have logged with Garda.

and ring her insurance company claims department.

and start the process.

let all process and form filling start and logged.

Hi mate, Walk into your local garda station and say you want to report this. Show them the video evidence. Obviously you will have to make a statement and be prepared to go to court. But even if you dont, 1st thing that insurance company is gonna ask is 1. was it reported to Garda and 2. If not why not. Garda will demand insurance from the driver. (She may not have any). Suddenly this will be turned around by her insurance company to avoid paying out. You are 100% in the right and done nothing wrong. I dont understand why you wouldnt report it. Similar incident happened with my wifes car a few years ago where I had CCTV evidence and I went through Garda and got sorted.

As the lads have said, no need to contact her. Why should you? She legged it and never even put a note on your car to contact her and now she's caught solid. Take her policy number and ring her insurers and tell them you're claiming through her insurance and you have CCTV evidence and photos of her rear bumper.

The Gardaí have to react to a hit and run regardless of someone being injured or not. At the very least, paint sample from your car and her car should be taken to see if they match to prove it was her even more.

Ask the Gardaí imagine if you were heading out for the day and had the nipper in the back seat and had to swing back to the house to grab something you forgot and then that happened.
