Saw the hatch, it was too late ... (gone already). Kind of hard to buy a car if you trust no one ... but I got to agree with you...

I believe a deposit was taken and then the car was put back up for sale do I'd say its still there, I would ring to confirm??

Another member on here rang on Saturday and was told it sold on Friday, then it was put backup for sale on donedeal on Saturday so it's a strange one??

If you have cash and are happy with a 2.5 hatch... Go to the dealers and you tell them what you will pay... Not many 20k cash buyers walking in these days... There will be more at that money. Fuk tax would make you sick do

Will try that too. Anybody else besides Caroll & Roche worth contacting?

You will have to be carefull about the hatchbacks... I was talking to a guy today and he said if they fall in the wrong month of 08.and after that.. The road tax is 2k or over!!!! I can't verify that but worth checking..
If you want to keep the tax to minimum and get as new a model as possible then you are looking at 2007 JDM STI OR JDM Spec C
They are 2 ltr and a good bit cheaper to tax than the 2.5

that is true as for any car when the new tax bands came in
someone mentioned that previously in the thread

No way would I hand over 2k+ for tax...

Heard of a guy with a 2010 Evo saying that his road tax was working out at near €50 per week!!!!!!

Even if I had Millions, no way would I pay that...

I think myself the value for money lies in either a Uk Blobeye Sti or a Jdm Blobeye Sti... Spend 10k instead of 20

It depends on when it was first registered, as long as it was registered before 1st July 2008 in its country of origin, you can stay in the cc based car tax.

Cars First Registered Outside Ireland

A private car first registered abroad prior to 1 January 2008 will be taxed on engine
size (cc). The new CO2 based system does not apply to second-hand imports that were
registered abroad prior to 2008.

A private car first registered abroad between 1 January 2008 and 30 June 2008
inclusive and subsequently registered in Ireland will be taxed on whichever is the lesser
of the motor tax rates based engine (cc) or CO2 emissions.

A private car first registered abroad after 1 July 2008 and subsequently registered in
Ireland will be taxed on the CO2 rate.

Oh nice, thanks a lot for this reference. So this means that I can get the 2008 from Jap and pay "the lesser of the two" which is the cc based tax. If I understand it correctly.
