Thoughts on this

that was a funny read :falldownlaugh:

Love the car Brian! You'd be mad to sell it. Been there done that and got it back :hammerhead:

I would avoid stibrian's car if I was you, all the brasser's stains on the rear sets are a major turn off :discomonkey:

Don't sell it ya numpty :argh:

I would only sell it for the right money lads.

Its worth a decent premium over the average STi left on the roads at this stage and based on johnboy enquiring about an STi with a 4k price tag we are talking similar language. However, I've heard nothing back from my pm to him so don't be panicing, I'll be at Terenure Classic Car Show representing the club by the looks of it :subaru:

Brian, your car will be top of my list if I have no luck over next few weeks with a type r(if someone doesn't take yours first :)) but I'm off on holiday this weekend so the car search will be put on hold till then..

On another note found this quiet funny... http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/5043616

That above car was for sale in Kerry yesterday and updated as sold, pops up in Limerick today... Someone trying to make a quick buck or otherwise?

that blue 98 one used to belong to a member "wetpatch"
then another member "sligo dave " used to own it
and then someone else after that too I think

Yeah no problem mate - I was like yourself (5 years ago) and decided I wanted a clean type r but after 6 months & viewing something like 15 cars I gave up on the idea as there were none out there. A wasted 8 hour round trip to West Cork was the final nail & I ended up buying the STi & haven't looked back since

I can guarantee you in 10 years time you will look back at 4k and stab yourself in the testicles with a fork.

Thanks for that sobering message Dave

I could be wrong here but I don't think the standard 4 door STi will appreciate in value like a minty mint type r will. How much would I pay over the coming 10 years in insurance, tax, fuel, maintenance etc that will easily cancel out the premium price a clean Subaru will carry at that point?

Don't get me wrong - if I had a garage to store my car in I would never sell it - but not in that position at present & couldn't justify paying for car storage.

Ah I see Ted I thought that was your shed there

No shed belongs to one of the in-laws & is used daily for truck servicing so no space available. Car was only in there for the day when preparing it for Terenure Show last year
