Track day car

I picked up some pipes during the week and started work in one side of the boost pipes. Happy with how it worked out. The driver side will be a little more difficult but should get to cobble something together[emoji28]

Sweet man, looks the biz ????
Nice and presentable without too many bends. Should have a noticeable difference ????

Cheers!
Trying to keep it simple as possible, far side will be tight but should be doable. I need to get a restrictor made for the inlet side to limit boost to around .6 or .7 bar. The aim is 220/225BHP biggest weak spot will always be the drivetrain but hopefully I can adapt my driving to mind that a little.

Ah yes! Been following that machine for a while.. awesome to get that power from such a small engine. Still in the early stages of development with that engine. That thing could really shift with the NA 1600 so if expect it to be a weapon once he gets it dialed in.

So since the last update I have been tipping away and small but important parts of the project
First up was the fit new front wheel bearings. I brought the struts over to Dec and he pressed out the old ones and pressed in I nice new set of bearings. Big thanks to Dec for this, he is always on hand when needed with this car. The bearings are something I never mind doing every year as they are a cheap part to replace.

Now that I had these sorted it meant I could start to put all the front suspension back together. I also fitted new rear pads and gave all the calipers a good clean and free all pins. These were all fully rebuilt last year so still spot on. The front RC5+ pads have loads left and will easily see me out for 2020.
I completely flushed all fluid and replaced with AP Racing 5.1 again this isn?t expensive and it?s all I have ever used to great effect.

So that?s really loads of small bits done and out of the way. Another small job I needed to do was make a bracket for my oil dip stick. While fitting this back on the old bolt snapped in the head. Completely my own fault as I should have replaced it. Only awnser for this was to make a big Gay aluminium bracket like so...

I also replaced the bolts I had on the charger bracket for new 10.9 m8, the other ones were just old gearbox bolts I had to temporarily hold it in place. Very close to getting it fired up now, all oils are done and all that?s really left is to fit the new charger belt dnd make up the down pipe for the charger. I have contacted Omex for a base map to start on. It would probably start on it?s own map but it?s no harm having a better one if possible.

Cheeks man!
Ya no problem, it was a bit of work but definitely worth doing. As mine was aluminum I couldn?t weld it but rivets should be good enough.

So finally the day has come and I got the Saxo started. It wasn?t without some drama[emoji85]
On Monday might while cranking the engine by hand to align the charger belt, a noise developed.
Very long story short after dropping the sump and removing the gearbox, I found I hadn?t correctly fitted the starter and it was fouling the starter.

Thankfully the engine was fine and once I got everything back together it started first attempt.
Tomorrow I?ll be getting the last boost pipe fitted so very much looking forward to that. It?s running on an Omex base map for not before mapping so very rich.

Delighted to have got to this point with the car, it?s always been my ambition to either boost or go big NA build, kinda happy I went Rotrex:)

Headed over to Tom McCann today at Pipefab to get my down pipe made up. He had it done in less than an hour and delighted with the results.
Sounds much better now, still very rich but mapping will leave her right.

Thursday evening myself and Dec removed the side exit exhaust and started work in the rear exit.
The side exit was way to loud and we couldn?t fit an extra box. For now the pipe is over the back in 63mm but the back box is yet to be fitted.
Hopefully we get this sorted during the week so it can be sent for mapping. I uploaded a slightly better base map yesterday and it seems a little better for now.

That thing sounds like an absolute animal man.
I'd be grinning from ear to ear driving that ????

That is some tidy work to get that charger fitred up she will be some toy with 200+bhp

Cheers! I?m delighted with everything so far. We had a good bit of tricking around to get the alternator lined up, and had to use an 8 valve engine bracket but worked great. I probably should have went into more detail on that but it was one of them nights where I was just super excited to just see the charger belt on[emoji23]
