Is the budget still 4-4500 because Dave's car isn't in that bracket :ponder2:

This thread just highlights for me exactly what's is wrong with the buying market/buyers and the reason people end up with 4k rebuild in the first place.
"oh that looks mint" "that's a clean car"..what from pictures? anyone can wax a car up and get a few dents out..what exactly does that mean too you?
If a cars engine has had a hard life, so has the gearbox, so has the suspension. Your better off going to see a car with a knowledgeable person giving it the once over .
Judging a car from a photo is pointless..some people know how to take better photos. I can see why a recent rebuild is attractive but plenty of cars without a rebuild could have done 80k miles, been serviced meticulously, never redlined, and mapped early in its life in Ireland.
I sold my own and the bodywork wasn't the best but the engine and gearbox, the most expensive things to replace where spot on...I was anal about oil changes and treating the engine well. I had careless neighbours and some cnut in work panged the door so to look at it the bodywork made the car a little tatty, lucky i sold it to my best mates brother and he knew the care the car had received. OK it's not always easy to tell a cars history but a good mechanic will know the condition.
Some one coming on here and looking at photos and declaring cars "junk" and wonders why people are getting wound up?

firstly what members car have i called junk?
secondly i am well aware that just because the car had a rebuild doesnt mean its a good car hence why i havnt bought any iv looked at so far
im 25 and have had plenty of performance cars and am well aware of the pitfalls of cheap performance cars but im also well aware that just because one type r impreza is 2k dearer than the next doesnt mean its a better car...

some of yas are like a bunch of oul 1s moaning at bingo, if you havnt a car for me to view then stop filling up the thread with bitching, its the most funny car wanted thread iv saw
thanks to anyone that has being helpfull
