What about this exhaust setup?

thinking of maybe getting the following:

Cobb center section/Y-pipe
COBB Race DP (no CAT)
GTSpec headers w/uppipe
Walbro uprated fuel pump

Anything else i need/should get while im at it? Is there much gains from a better TMIC? And obvious;y a tweak map after all this has been fitted!

Not very many companies that do parts for the Legacy. All these parts are for the American 2.5gt legacy, i was told they should fit the same

Anyone know anywhere else i can get my hands on jdm engine bits for the BL5 Legacy?

Have you tried Japanparts.com or Nengun.com Dan? Dont really know much about exhausts and TMIC to help you out there!

Why the headers, have you up-rated your turbo???the original headers are perfect unless your looking for big bhp,and bigger turbo..
Should you have not fitted a walbro before your re-map??

would of thought fuel pump before the map but maybe the BL's have a variable flow on the pump? i dont know what gains to be made from a better top mount..made get a good induction kit and decat before you next map should see you right

i got my car mapped back in April but the car was still standard, i just wanted to get a safe map onto it to stop using booster with every tank full. Wasn't planning on doing the headers and that, only decat down pipe and center section. but then i got talking to Davelegacy over the weekend :thumbsup:and he mentioned the headers and up-pipe which got me thinking!

Japanparts are very expensive on the small selection of stuff they have for my model, and nengun dont have any exhausts for mine  Need to get a mapping issue on mine sorted again anyway so might try get the new parts on before then! If anyone wants to help me fit the exhausts bits I'd appreciate the help, will have access to a ramp which should make things easier

I wouldent bother with the headers yet IMO. If you do choose the brand carefully, some of the up pipes dont work well at certain levels.

i was thinking to get the headers at the same time as the downpipe to save on shipping. i have geared mixed reports about the headers, saying with some you lose the boxer rumble.

I think for now i'll just try and get the de-cat down pipe and centre section and fuel pump.

Anyone recommend a good induction kit? was looking into the K+N Typhoon ones. anyone have any experience with these?

what type of headers do you recommend damo????

Any kit that sucks air from the wing or front bumper is ideal!
I have the APS one with has a hard pipe that goes out through the wing and places the filter down in the front bumper!
I think the typhoon has the filter in the engine bay but has a duct that goes into the wing,
Either way a fair few hundred quids worth, Maybe a more economical (and perfectly adequate) option is a K&N panel filter!
The gtspec are supposed to be the job! It's the equal length ones are the one that loose you the rumble, any reputable firm selling "slightly" unequal length ones would be the job,
What back boxes have you got?
Dan

thanks for the info dan. i have a k+n panel filter in mine currently. i have the standard back boxes which i thought i would leave on to keep the noise level down after fitting the de-cats. as far as i know the K+N typhoon stays in the engine bay. where did you get your one that goes down below the bumper?

I suppose the fact that you have 2 back boxes means they would flow more than a normal single setup!
I have seen K&N induction kits with a cover over the filter with a duct going to the wing! I think Garda STI has one!
Davelegacy got my one for me!
Dan

ye only long ram one i can find that does a legacy is the AEM one, from us i can get Invidia catless downpipe, Perrin catless y center section and AEM cold air intake, delivered for about 800 euro. and then any customs i might get stung with. tempting!

Can't argue with that!
Infact thats very good!
The customs is based on the prise the goods are insured on so if you want to take a chance just ask the seller to insure the package for far less than it actually costs!
Dan

If you're going along to the next night meet we'll compare your intercooler to a new age impreza one and If the New age one would fit then DEFO go for that!!!!
Dan

@Dan your headers a perfectly fine for your state of tune...... Did not advise up-rating as lot more productive things you can do............

@scoobyke & Dagnut.......... The factory Legacy GT 03-on fuel pumps are fine with dealing with a 0.5 stage car without uprating......

GT Spec are what I use Mark, but dont waste your money there is no need for them unless you get to a certain stage.
