Went on a Memorial Car run today and had a play with a Delta Integrale 16v and an Escort Cosworth down some back roads

Surprised with the Go in the Integrale, I told myself he caught me in the wrong gear, but it had definitely gotte some pull in it

I always thought, i'd never want to drive an escort cosworth, having always wanted one it wouldn't live up to my expectations but this one was pretty good to go for a near standard car, he had a t28, injectors, pump and an omex ecu and remap to 280bhp, the lancia owner told me he was running near standard just fueling mods, which wasn't entirely true as it had a huge alloy fmic, an oil cooler, Magnex exhaust system and what looked to me like non standard brembos.

Mine is running dead standard, power and it was very even between all three we had a chance on the main road to pull alongside the cosworth then the integrale and the integrale was quicker than the Escort but I didn't pull much if anything on either.

iv had the chance in my life to drive all three cars and if im completely honest I would say the escort is awesome for exclusivity and legendary status and looks great but its the worst to drive, the integrale is just plain cool and a great car to drive but I would have to say that for an all round classic performance car it has to be the Scooby for their time they were way out in front in my opinion

The two lads were mates, and I had met them on a previous run, I knew I had the legs on the cosworth from the last time, I followed it a few cars back around Gowran park inner field on a fast lap but I wasn't sure about the lancia.

I was chatting to them both before and after this run, and I reckon for an all round i'd keep my own but in the dream garage i'd have all three. Mine was the most sideways out of junctions, the lad in the cosworth says his mate has in car and was asking me about the diff controller in the RA he said all junctions I was broadside. To be honest I was gunning it but didn't feel all that out. Given me the bug now to go for more power and sort out the shite understeer in the front. Also I was fading the brakes like mad by the end of the run.

definitely my three lotto garage cars too man .if I was you sort the handling and stopping and leave the power except maybe a reamp and exhaust

To be honest the paintwork is sh*t on it the roof is gone really thin, and the bumpers and sills are chipped and faded and it needs a respray to have it the way I want it, although mechanically it's a1 as Dave Byrne rebuilt it a few years back so the plan is to stash the Whiteline bits I have for it Arb's and Droplinks and an anti lift kit, and the new Apexi N1 coilovers and sell this one into the UK and import a fresh one from Japan, a mate of mine brought in one earlier this year, and I have been looking the last while missed a grade 4 with 16,000kms a few months back made 9grand landed here

I have been gathering bits a while now, I have 440cc's and a walbro bought as well. I was going to try simtek it and sort the handling and paintwork and keep it.

hard to get now in low mileage clean cars if yours just needs some tidying it would be worth keeping you could have it completely mint for less than an import would cost and at least you know what you have then

I have something on the way from Japan when it sells, i'm going to buy another V2 V ltd and keep the better of the two. The market for them here is not the best but I reckon I would have a reasonable chance of selling into the UK. If I keep the import, I will end up forging it in time to come, my own only had a standard rebuild

Putting her up on axel stands , getting the wheels off and getting them dropped off to get the new tyres fitted , going to strip the old disks and pads off in the morning and hopefully the disks ive ordered will arrive during the week and i can put the whole car back together next weekend and have her in for the test shortly after , thats the plan anyway

Fitted an Apexi intake

And cleaned her!

fitted after the map rob, fitted it a while back and the car wasn't running right with it, fitted it again today and reset the ECU at the same time, and the car is running very smooth with it now, a little more throttle response with the low end torque if anything, took it for a good test run right through the rev range and seems to be running fine, gonna go for a decat and maybe a few other bits and then get the remap as the standard exhaust was fitted for the map, where as now there is a hks silent performance fitted now, so due a remap regardless!

Have all my rear arms stripped and re done red
Fitted my new bc Coilovers and awaiting my new work wheels and my bride seats from Japan as we speak
