few bits landed for the car the other day carbon dipped Alternator cover and Intake snorkel
also a set of pink hoses can't wait to get them all fitted now

my mate here in Clonmel does hydro dip too. Have to ask him if he has any photos of jobs done. Im planing myself to bring few bits
of the engine bay, defo doing the headlight inside in carbon dip. just to find time and money for fashion mods.

Full service, changed oil, filter(put back the paper in), cleaned MAF sensor, changed spark plugs, replaced both belts(alternator and air conditioning), put cabin filter in, for some reason previous owner had that removed completely, no idea why.

Hopefully this will resolve the missfire issue I was getting. I have done some reading, and some internet sources said, that the missfire is caused by oil filters dropping partciles of the oil onto MAF sensor, and MAF then not calculating sh*t properly, so I cleaned it and put paper filter on. Will see if the issue is resolved and if is, I might have K&N filter for sale

cabin filter removed as the old one was so dirty it wasnt letting air in
so if you dont have one its best to pull the old so your vents will clear the windscreen properly

i didnt think you cleaned mafs in subarus
and if your maf is giving trouble id get that looked at asap

I see, well, at the outrageous price of cabin filter, I am surprised nobody bothered to replace it, no wonder I had every 3 weeks my windows dirty from inside.

I dont think the MAF sensor was giving trouble, just that some parts could have been oily. Read about it on nasioc, so did as they suggested and cleaned it with some contact cleaner. will see how it performs now. If I get CEL again, I will start looking for trouble. So far it seems that it resolved the issue, as I didnt get any rough idle after starting warm...

Took the turbosmart kompact bov and boost gauge out of the legacy to get them posted off to new owners

I think you solved problem. As you put standard back.
Mine was acting same as I had some cone filter when I bought it. Put standard air box with paper filter and didn't get any CEL.
Far as I understand you car not mapped. Heard in some cases if you put free flow filter on not mapped car you might get CEL
A lot people was saying to me if you want modify Subaru you need remap nearly for everything related to engine like filter, decat pipe. You just can't put things on it and drive without mapping.

maybe the older jecs ecu are different to the denso one found in the newage
but know quiet a few lads who fitted
dumpvalves
cone filters
panel filters
decats
new age top mounts
front mounts
exhausts
and never any issues
just not getting the full potential without the remap
i think the jdm cars are different but maybe that is due to them not being mapped for irish fuel in the first place
not quiet sure on that

My latest purchase arrived today [emoji38]

Just need the time to fit[emoji48]
