What did you do to your car today?

yep when i popped the hood there was flames and smoke coming from the bottom front of the engine, seems like whatever popped sprayed oil everywhere which spilled onto the headers which were super hot and caught fire, it fizzled out after 5 minutes or so which was lucky i was expecting the whole car to go up. I could see anything bad but was lots of oil under the intercooler/intake manifold area. Thankfully i was close to Ciarans place so he came and towed the car back to his place for diagnosis. Fingers crossed its nothing major and no big damage was done. There was an awful lot of oil everywhere so not a good sign
 
quick update from Ciaran suggests a rod has snapped, he will put the scope in on Monday to see what kind of damage has been done. Not looking good though if thats the case . Probably jinxed myself with all this rebuild talk in that other thread a few weeks ago! might be putting it to use now!
 
well if its bad ill probably rebuild it stronger anyway while im at it. lucky it happened now as ill be getting a few quid next week for last years bonus, but she wont be happy as that was supposed to bring her on a nice holiday! I'll start a new thread about it, im sure i will have lots of questions on best route/parts to go with!
 
dan buy from the uk and have ciaran build stuff is cheaper there unlike rip off ireland,is the block ok after the rod snapping
