What did you do to your car today?

Untitled-1.jpg

Class job. Now stick them them in the oven..... go AC/DC on em!!
De tango too :)

Looks fantastic then.

I just really pushed mine back together when I was resealing. Fairly sure I got it as it was before hand. No issues yet anyway, but yes, do detango and black mod. Looks great,
Check my blog, only done it the other day ????

Thanks guys. Big big difference.
Hehe I like the orange part. Adds color :icon_biggrin:
Hopefully they stay clear with a bit of tlc from now on

Oem is the new modified in my view as they will never seal the same again

No issue with mine many years later Joe.
All about the right prep and proper 3M products.

Prep is key and waiting for seal to set.

Looks angry better...

The last championship winning Impreza was de-tango.... :)

Just saying...

Looks amazing! Love the back to basic "standard" idea. was slightly against it to start with but can see now why, and also why an original standard wrx needs to be appreciated for exactly that! 1 things more... can you please reverse it into the driveway as they are so clear now they reflect in my eyes when I am working!

Got a lot more stripped off the car this morning. Its great to have something to be at when you're told to stay at home

started cutting back and polishing the paintwork. using a DA ds6 v2 with sonax pastes. coming up well considering age, neglect and my inexperience ha, ALOT of work and i aint that fit in the shoulders and back so i'm only doing 2 panels or so per day, plus the longer it takes the faster the 2 weeks lockdown pass lol. trying autoglym paint sealant aswell. easy on/off, time will tell about durability (although im not expecting too much)

Nice work  take it in stages and don't get the panels too hot it's all about learning

thanks
yeah could only start on one door, then the sun moved to that side and it was too hot to continue. its the 3rd car im buffing so no burning paint at least, actually find im a bit too hesitant and dont go long/slow enough for optimal results lol. but i also dont want to strip too much clear coat off either. 90% of marks and scratches are coming out so that will do for now :icon_biggrin:

That looks class lads, well done ????
Better off to take it in stages, and when coming to bigger panels use a bit of tape to create little sections just to ensure you get an even level of cut, Menzerna 3in1 is great also, very quick turn around and good results too
Re the Autoglym sealant, that's what I'd use myself. It's not a ceramic so won't work miracles, but does lock in the shine for a bit. Generally I'd get about 2.5 or 3 months before it would start to lose its touch, but have never used it after cutting, if I done a de-tar and decontamination for example, and a coat of polish, I find the AG protection is grand over that
I think it does the job like, it's good, it works and does what it's supposed to, and IMO it lasts as well as you'd expect it to considering it's not a ceramic coating.
