Decided to take on the rattle that has been driving me nuts recently. Got to the bottom of it though - exhaust hanger rubbers had dried up and shrunk over time, pulling the backbox upwards. Tip of the pipe was just about touching off the car so at some revs was clattering away off it.
Replaced (with more sweat and cursing that I expected) with longer hanger. Sorted....
But that then drew attention to a second lot of rattles. Tore the boot trim apart and found a bloody tab after breaking was knocking around inside the trim. Removed, trim back on and not even the slightest bit of noise now on the bumpiest of roads.
But that drew attention to a slight squeak when I press the clutch.
F*ck it. I turned up the radio.
