Lads,

Thinkin bout window tint, would appreciate your thoughts/opinions on it. And also opinion on wheather to do back window and back doors only or all doors. Also if ye have any pics of a blob eye with this done it be greately appreciated.
Also is there a certain grade or something it has to be to be legal??

Rear 3 windows would be the best look i think, and also the only legal way as front windows tinted will now fail NCT. :thumbsup:
 
all round with a light tint looks best in my opinion
however these days front sides are nct fail so you will have to peel them off come nct time
every 2 years which will become evry 1 year sooner or later
what ever you like yourself really
autoflair have always done very good tints
only place i would go :thumbsup:
 
pretty sure you are allowed front window tints...have to be minimum 65% light visibility through them!!!
open to correction....

dont think so
i have been removing tints of vehicles front sides
quiet a bit lately due to nct failure
stupid rule they put in the nct to target boy racers
 
havent heard of this
read either on here or a different forum where a window tint company had said that no tint on the front sides would pass
the nct
shouldnt have taken it as gospel :wall
at least i know now and can pass the info on to my customers in work :thumbsup:

mine just failed on front tints. mine is 40% and the maximum is 35% or factory tint is passable!! so have to peel off to pass an get it re tinted... rage

Do they intend charging you €28 for the retest? I assume they have some sort of equipment they have to use?
 
it just failed as a visual! so when i bring it back with the tints off the front window i get my cert!! killin me to peel it off tho... wouldn mind if it was limo tint or sumtin but mine is really light...

So did you get a light reading from them to fail it or what's the story?
 
ye it said fail refusal window tint. light below 65%. basicially the window has to let in minumim of 65% light.. my tint was 40% so. when i went back with it peeled off (rage) i got me cert and asked him if put 30% on wil it pass an he said only factory tint will pass!!! so confusing or wat.. puttin back on 40% next week.. ha

they should have a light filter to check the tinting level, but factory tint is allowed to pass only.

you could try driving in with your windows down lol or removing just the drivers side and when he asks for tinted windows lift the drivers side only, he could just take for granted they are not tinted..... :multijump:
 
Could you take the glass out and just tell them you like the wind in your hair? Would it pass with no windows?
