wiring loom question

Sunday Drivers
hi i have 97 import impreza what if i fitted uk 99 wire loom plus ecu could i run on irish fuel

You would need further changes to comlete the ignition system. One runs wasted spark and the other has amplified coil system.

but could i put newer loom in so i would be running unlead then able to get remap later

Seems like a serious long way around mapping? The time involved. And parts then needed on top of the loom makes it non viable cost and time wise.

And even on top of that if all that was done the 99ecu mapped to run a factory standard car on a td04. You have a vf24 so would still be running lean.

Never mind if was decatted etc. 99ecu runs 440cc and wrx 380cc injectors.

List can go on and on.

i dont get the reasoning of why you would generate the hassle involved?

What good would a 99 loom be? that is for v5 v6 engine, you have v3/v4. So engine is different and v5 v6 inlet wont fit on it, also your dash board should be old type so there is potential hassle there. Engine harness wont match car loom etc etc
With Dave on this one, its a stupid idea forget about it.

Could be v4 so could be new dash. As said list so long from maf to icv etc and manifold could go on as think carl davey got converters out but again from cost and time its running into mad costings and hours i dont get why consider.

From v1/2 convert to v3/4 or 5/6 i get to run front entry etc but also ways around that.

worth try no short cuts then simtec it is then just 1000 euro is hard gather up when insur and petrol are on rise

Its not super complicated or impossible. Ive seen classics running version 7 engine loom and ecu. Is it worth it though? Id never call it stupid Ken. If the parts are available foc then knock yourself out. But the best/cheapist solution would be a power fc.
I run a version 3 with version 5 heads and a version 7 manifold with top feed injectors. Ask if it can be done on a Subaru forum and you will get shot down. No icv of any kind either! Stupid-no, trying to get the best from my car-yes. etc etc as you say
Its good to step outside the boundries, especially when you whip cars with 100 bhp more than yourself.

its not a try. Its easy done to a certain extent. Its just not worth it to avoid mapping.

I just still dont get a reason of why??

All the above work for an end result of geting a mappable v5 v6 ecu that will cost probably near 1k to ecutek map anyway instead of just buying an Apexi or simtec from the start etc etc is just Plain Stupid dont matter what way you put it.
