Plan for 2013
Injectors were holding me back from going any further, so have 1100cc injectors here waiting. But plan has changed now as i now know for sure i have a head gasket starting to fart, so out with engine, heads off, AVCS heads on, few other bits that i will mess with that i think can make the car alot better, and get the best from the GT30...

Have no idea on time scale as this was the only plan containing a Subaru for 2013......

But then i did this yesterday :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

robbie what was the reason for changing to goodridge lines ?

The Hel were fine for a few laps, but after that I started to get fade so I was told to go for goodridge. So might as well. Disks were pretty sh*t on the day too so not sure whether that could have caused it either..

Thanks lads,
The car is a credit to Nick, I felt bad for him when it came to taking it home so much so i asked did he want to change his mind, i know how he felt as ive been there and its not nice.
I dont hold onto cars long, i change my mind fairly regular every day :), but i hope maybe i can settle into this one a bit more.
I have a van that i use for daily travelling to work... but i dont travel far and by using a van over an Impreza i am only saving about 10quid a week on Diesel, with family i dont really get to go anywhere on my own at weekends, so only real time i get to use a car is during week, so thats the plan as mad as it sounds, going to use the Spec C as my daily driver and get rid of the van

Ken i laughed when i read your post post, most lads these days go the sensible route and buy diesel on this one i take my hat off to you you've bought one of the best impreza's ever to use as a daily driver brilliant

From a 2.0, how is making that much torque do you knwow?

Well wear Kenc!
My plan for this year is to get it mapped
Lowering springs
Better brake pads
Braided lines
Maybe whiteline goodies, ALK ARB?
Maybe wheels, S401 style

My info could be wrong but I think it's all magic joes doing!

My own list it
Fit the 2.5 etc
Fix my gearbox
Get my esl
Get it mapped by joe
Repair any bodywork I'm not happy with
Drive it lots!

Went with a 20% methanol mix in the tank. As I rarely use the car, spending 20mins measuring and adding the meth instead of the usual 5mins at the petrol station doesn't really bother me, ha ha :icon_lol:

kenc , wow , wellwear with one of my fav club cars

rob , is the 400 lbft something to do with the spec-c internals as well as the meth ,as in they make more usually over a sti

and dan , you should sell your car and finance my project .

She's looking very well indeed Ken :icon_sad: hope you enjoy it and the very best of luck with it

It was a hard choice to part with it but when you start thinking about selling it's usually the right choice, i will miss it but life must go on

I'll stick around though, if i'm allowed :new_puppy_dog_eyes:

Well thats how i convinced myself anyway....
But i was genius in convincing herself... wait for it... getting married in August and i told her it would be handy to have as a wedding car... What you think of that :) mwahaaaaaaa

I honestly couldn't tell you for sure Ross. I think the Spec C's seem to make a little more than a standard sti because of more aggressive cams but that could be wrong. The massive increase in torque is down to the addition of the methanol, just eliminates any sign of detonation around the midrange torque area so the timing can be advanced massively. The 400ftlbs is conservative as well, its not on the edge of the timing and does allow for slight variations which I wanted so I'm happy out. Joe reckons he knows how to get it to peak above 350bhp while maintaining the torque so I'm happy out. Bare in mind the only mods are exhaust, walbro, 3 port, fpr and panel filter so i think it quite good. Was toying with the idea of induction kit but I want the engine bay to appear as standard as possible. I'll only go induction if I ever upgrade the turbo, possibly after the antilag destroys it
