As much advice as possible - Impreza.

Thought I'd give you all an update.

I started to drift away from the scoobys in the last few weeks. Took a DC5 out for a spin and quite liked it and started looking in to insurance but hit a brick wall.

Was still looking at them when the other night I was coming home and some boyo in a blue classic type r absolutely planted it up the road by me, dropped a gear and floored it into the roundabout and nearly comin' out of her backwards. Anti-lag and the lot was switched on and the burbble had me again.

So this is what I've decided on. Gonna buy a daily of a GTTDI Golf or the likes and stick a tow hitch on her then come the new year I'm gonna buy a classic and a trailer to go with her and do a build of a track car! :subaru:

Till then, I'll still be stickin' around here. Who knows, I might win the Lotto!

Great idea Bonito. A lot of lads getting a more affordable daily driver now and building a track car.
Best of luck.

Was thinkin' of getting a scrapper as a daily but I've a bit of a commute for work so wanted somethin' comfy! It'll take a little longer but in the end I can have my cake and eat it too! :D

imo its the worst idea ever,

you already said you have no room or space for two cars and now your going to need space for a trailer aswell. you cant pull a transporter with a car either by law, you will need a 4wd.

have you ever even done a track day? you might not like it(some dont) and its not worth having a track car and trailer unless your doing 6-10 trackdays a year, subarus dont even make good track car out of the box, you will have to spend about 5 grand to make it any good and then another grand on a trailer, thats 6 grand on a car your going to use maybe a dozen times a year and then theres the cost of the day, each track day will cost you 250 euro.

go buy yourself a clean uk spec limited edition car and use it for work and the odd track day and enjoy driving it. it will hold its value if kept standard

My grandad has land which was left to him when his parents passed away. His brother still lives in the house and there's a big field and garage beside it which I'd be able to store a track car and trailer and also be able to work on it.

Anywho, it's not as if I'll be buyin' it tomorrow, it'll be in the new year as I'm just gonna get a runaround for now. When the time comes next year to buy an Impreza I'll have a look again and decide what I'll do.

I'd love to have something nice as a daily and the future could well have me being moved back closer to home for work but at the same time that could be 6 months away or 12 months away.

For now I'm just not even going to look at Imprezas that are up for sale anymore because I'll just drive myself mad. I'll see what way the market turns, if it does at all, next year and then make a decision. For now, I'll be putting away every single spare penny I have.

I'm an awful fussy ba*tard, ye'll come to realise this in time! I can change my mind altogether in a split second. It's a pain in the nads but that's just how I am! :icon_headbang:
