E5 Maxol.

Dear Mark,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying to your recent email concerning Maxol fuel.

Maxol is committed to providing our customers with the best product at the best price against ever more stringent quality and environmental standards. Our fuels are formulated to ensure that your engine operates to the vehicle manufacturers designed performance and efficiency while meeting the latest requirements of the European Standards Specifications (which are EN228 for petrol and EN 590 for diesel). Our fuel also meets the new environmental criteria introduced by the Irish Government in January 2013.

The European Standard for petrol allows for two options, regular petrol or regular petrol containing up to 5% ethanol (E5). Maxol is committed to providing environmental friendly fuels at all our sites however as we use a variety of supply sources for both petrol and diesel, as a result of which it is not always possible to ensure E5 is available at every site. We can assure you, however, that over 6% of our fuel comes from renewable sources and that all our motor fuels continue to meet the exacting standards of EN228 and EN590.

In relation to your query regarding delivery vehicles Maxol have a long term contract with Reynolds Logistics Limited to deliver fuel to all our sites. The majority of deliveries are made using Maxol branded tankers however at times of peak demand or while these branded vehicles are undergoing servicing deliveries are made using Reynolds Logistics branded vehicles.

If you have any further queries please feel free to contact me at the number below.

Yours sincerely,

Mark

Proud supporters of Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Very confusing.

On their website they state, that all Maxol petrol has been replaced with e5 and now this.

No other choice but remap the cars to 95...

so does that mean E5 is still available at certain stations??

It means treat it as 95 but you might get lucky that one day their tanker will have managed to get E5 at the docks.

The pumps at whitestrand maxol in galway are now marked E5 with new stickers but Maxol clarecastle has always felt like better fuel to me-however they have now removed E5 stickers and last fill didnt feel so good

:plusone:

My car has been bad and not smooth for last while, unless i put octane booster in with the (E5 /Maxol).
Mine is mapped for E5. (96/97 octane).

mineis mapped for e5 and still to notice any difference in performance or consumption, even ran her on high boost map over the weekend and not a bit difference

Mine is mapped for E5, always use the same local maxol, yet to notice anything out of the ordinay.

I have a question my car is mapped to run on E5 now if I was putting E5 in tank and it was not E5 has my engine being damaged or was I just lucky and I had my map done by Bob is he the only man now that can tweek map cheers.

There's no way to tell that on a forum John, unless you are giving it full beans all the time, then chances are low. But then engine should learn to retard the timing as well. Not sure what sort of knock protection would be on the BL5, but the newage impreza is very good.

Wait until you go to the ring and have 102 RON on tap. You'll be crying when you're back home. :D

Its a pity a lot of the Applegreens are being bought by Topaz!

Im just filling up with whatever 95 now, map will need a tweak as there is a bit of activity on the 95 but nothing mental, similar to what the last few fills of Maxol E5 would give

Filled up with Applegreen last week... car felt a lot livelier... and I got 350miles rather than my normal 320miles from a tank of Maxol E5. Gonna give it a go for a while.

Im getting a map tweek done on mine soon and taking the opportunity to get it maped fr 95 coz of all the uncertainty over e5 my question is when maped fr 95 can u use octane booster (as still have a few bottles left) will the car be able to make use of it is it bad fr engine to do this ..or just a waste of time?... :dontknow:
