Oops  My bad... I didn't read it all
[/quote]

You obviously didnt read the tital either lmao

heard the guy from maxol on the radio the other day talking about the new fuel he said it should be the same price as normal unleaded and any car use it!!! He was selling it as a greener option to normal unleaded bio diesel is also on the way to a forecourt near you to much the same idea 95% & 5% . Maxol were first of the mark to introduce these biofuels to the forecourt but over the next few months other oil companies will do the same!!

Fingers crossed, but does this mean that un-remapping days will have to be organised?

If this 99ron fuel does become readily available then you can get your car mapped to use the fuels full potential!
eg. with exhaust and remap on 95 ron I would have got about 300 bhp but with 95 + lucas ( about 97ron) I got 327 bhp
So really looking forward to getting her mapped for 99ron
Also a second remap might not be as expensive because the first remap would have unlocked the ecu (which I think cost a fair proportion of your first remap)
Dan

AS far as I know my pistons are only good for about 370 bhp (according top litchfield/Powerstation) but they were trying to sell me a cosworth short block! (maybe for my next birthday my wife will buy my one)
Does any one know if the higher octane rating extends that figure?
My aim eventually is about 400 bhp ( preferably on standard internals) but if not whatever the safe maximum is!
Dan

I dont think so Dan, the reason is because I THINK your Forester may have the Hypereutectic pistons. I wouldent run over 350 on them if they are to be on the safe side.

Damo

God damn it
I dont mind kissin' but I hate that!
Bo11ox anyway!  :wall:
I suppose I had better start saving for a full forged rebuild! :wall:

Although!!! with the new engine surely I can up my target bhp a bit? :headbanger:
What do you think?
Dan

Ah yeh for sure I just wouldent push it to far. There are people running more then that but they dont seem to react well to the extra heat. In saying that they may not be those pistons.

Mine's an 00-reg "Irish" car without a turbo, and not an import, so would I need to have anything done to for it to run at its best on 99ron? (I wouldn't mind a bit more "oomph" sometimes.  ;))

Its on general release this month according to the website, it has been tested for the last 12 months in a couple of stations up the north-west. Have emailed her again to find out the exact date so I'll let ye know as soon as she replies

Is there anyone in the club using it already?? :ponder:

Surely, someone is living in one of the areas they have been testing? :dunno:

Lets see how good our committee really are - What about arranging for a tanker of this to be available for Mondello on Sunday?
Only joking lads, yis are doing a great job

Can't wait for this stuff, Damo you're gonna make a fortune in remapping already mapped cars

I wonder would you be able to use octane boost on top of E5 to get above 100 octane. I know vpower cancels the effect of octane boost but does any1 know if bio-ethanol fuel does it 2??
