All maxol garages will be selling this E5 fuel I think
[/quote] As far as I know Maxol will no longer sell 95 petrol it will be just this E5 stuff, E85 and diesel.

We can get it in all Maxols by the end of Sept apparently. Its guaranteed 99.2RON also.

hey lads just read this thread with great interest and wondering has anyone tried it yet?

Would this go some way to solving the problems with mapping b4's???
I remember one of the lads from the forum a while back saying he is some kind of pertolleum engineer!! Anybody know who that is ?????
He might be able to say if E5 is compatible with lucas!
I may open an account with maxol, I averaged 19 mpg on the last tank! (so worth it) :subaru:

Whats up lads, below is the responsce I got from my query to maxol. They even gave me analysis of the fuel and a image of the stickers that will be on the pumps to identify it!!!

I'll try to get them on the post, not quite sure how :computer: :computer:

A definite Maxol customer here anyway..

Cillian,

Thank you for your enquiry re E5. I can confirm that the Octane rating is 99.2, as attested to in the attached Fuel Quality Analysis done by accredited laboratory of SGS. Pump decals like the one attached will in due course be placed on sites retailing E5 – but it’ll take a little time to get this work done on all sites.

Maxol E5 Petrol fully meets the EU specification EN 228 for Unleaded in accordance with the terms of EU Fuel Directive EC 98/70 revised to provide for biofuel content in Unleaded Petrol.

Maxol E5 will thus have the same fuel quality and integrity as standard unleaded petrol. However, motorists using E5 will contribute to a cleaner environment as a result of approximately 2.5% lower carbon emissions from their vehicle.

It is currently available at the majority of Maxol sites in the North east, and South west (terminals at Drogheda and Foynes service these areas respectively), and is expected to be available ex Dublin to the Greater Dublin, Leinster and midlands from mid September.

So motor on cleaner, greener, and with a bit more whizz, with Maxol E5.

Maxol – Fuel for all engines - Promoting a cleaner motoring environment.

Sounds like your in a good position to be the first Subaru tester Mack..

Let us know how you get on.

There will be a sticker on the pump saying "Unleaded with 5% renewable bioethonal", I have the picture of it here but don;t know how to put it on the forum. :ponder:

If you IM me your email address I can sent it to you, maybe you might be able to put it on the post

This sounds good, I may have missed it in the thread somewhere but is it available in the UK ?
