Looks like Subaru will be staying in Europe after all,I suspected they might go the way of Mitsubishi but the deal with Toyota has them setup with the Toyota technology.

Good call as Toyota are 15 years in production with Hybrids and there reliable unlike other brands

The current Forester already has some of Toyota stuff in the eboxer model.

Subaru announced in early 2020 that it had set a target to sell 100% electric vehicles by mid-2030. As part of that larger commitment, Subaru confirmed plans to begin delivering a “strong hybrid” model for release in the latter part of the decade, in addition to the all-electric SUV it was building with Toyota.

“Although we’re using Toyota technology, we want to make hybrids that are distinctly Subaru,” said chief technology officer Tetsuo Onuki at the briefing as reported by Reuters.

“It’s not only about reducing CO2 emissions. We need to further improve vehicle safety and the performance of our all-wheel drive.”

Subaru Europe, the subsidiary of Subaru Corporation in Europe, today confirmed the company is preparing for the launch of a full electric vehicle.
Scheduled for introduction in the first half of 2020’s, Subaru’s all-electric vehicle will be a mid-size SUV, similar in size to the Subaru Forester model. It will be built on a platform shared with Toyota.

Additional information will be shared sometime next year.
The news underlines Subaru’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint in Europe and satisfy a growing demand for alternative powertrains.
It also signals the brand’s second electrification step in Europe after it recently launched mild-hybrid variants of three core models in the region, where the Impreza e-BOXER, Subaru XV e-BOXER and Forester e-BOXER models today represents 60% of the sales volume.

I would love for Subaru to get back to WRC and the young Solberg to be behind the steering wheel. I know dreams are free.

I'm super excited to announce that me and Aaron have joined
Hyundai Motorsport
on a 2 year deal!
🤩
Working with the reigning WRC champions is just an incredible opportunity - it feels like a new chapter in my career, the next part of the dream!
We'll be doing a full WRC2 programme in 2021, starting with a current Hyundai i20 R5 before switching to the i20 N Rally2 once the new car is ready in the middle of the year
🔥

I have a lot of people to thank for helping me to get to this point, of course my family and all of the team around me, but also Hyundai Motorsport team principal Andrea Adamo and team manager Alain Penasse
🙌
They have given me this incredible opportunity and I can't wait to get started!
💪

Here is your piece of useless information for today.
I've seen few time through the years the subaru rabbit badge. And l was wondering what was the story behind it, so l did a bit of a digging. It turns out it was a badge or logo for Fuji Scooters:

In June 1946, Fuji Sangyo stopped manufacturing aircraft and completed Japan's first prototype motor scooter. This motor scooter, with a 135 cc, 2hp engine and utilizing the tail wheels of an army surplus warplane, was launched as the Rabbit in the following year. At that time, Japan's transportation conditions were in a poor state, and people had lost many convenient means for getting around. The debut of this new kind of vehicle was met with great interest. The Rabbit was admired by the general population because the driver could sit with feet together and because of the motor scooter's stable low center of gravity as well as its reasonable speed.

For anybody curious about their JDM car's month of production.
Put your VIN number in here:

http://grade-search.subaru.jp/luw/

Eg: GC8 in the first box, then 024635 etc in the second box.

Works from MY93 cars to MY20

*For Google Chrome users don't translate the page first, do your search and then translate. Took me a few minutes to figure out why it wouldn't work!

Interesting that they tagged Gazoo Racing 👀
