Rolling Road day at A.I Autosports new premises up north.

Paul I dont think anyone is saying that the lads in AI are up to something or that there dishonest. Also delta dash can be quite inaccurate so I wouldent go by that. I got 330 / 320 on Andys one but was around 35 - 40 short of that, and he told me its not that accurate and you have to consider alot of things.
Some cars put out what you would expect but when others put out figures that seem to be impossible it raises a question mark ??

At the end of the day it is just a bit of fun and a number but on one car I noticed the turbo just cant flow enough air at the boost it was running to produce the numbers that where produced. I could be wrong but I reckon id put any amount of money on it.

so u want every1 to go stick ther cars on 2 dif rr to see if its correct. its a 7 month old acr mate with a few mods its gona giv full power out put and deliver more cause engine is newer ulike older cars have lost power over the years and dont react as good with them mods.
[/quote]

Look mate if you want to believe that your car has gained 65bhp with those mods and without a re-map then fair enough..... All I was trying to was figure out why some people got high readings.....

Alan.

I dont think thats the case.

i dnt mate :dunno: theres not ryt or wrong answer to all this but i have a remapping session on 8th then gona stick her on rolling road again and see what its at.

basically to gain 65bhp you'd need to run higher boost..where do you think the extra power is coming from? the bov will provide 0 horsepower..0..the hoses and decat exhaust would allow better breathing and the ecu could probably adjust a bit of extra fuelling to match the increased air flow but making a 25% gain is crazy....would you not rather have a more accurate figure? no one is trying to get at you should get remap you will instantly notice the difference in power..take it on another rollers and compare

well the air filter maf hose and turbo inlet hose gives a better air flow than standard plastic sh*t

Yeah agree wit ya Alan....just dont know what to say...iam also impressed by my figures...366bhp... :ponder: :ponder:

Rob I hope you dont mind me using this as an example, Basicaly the car that won the rolling road day in Westward eng was Dave Lewis's first white sti that had an TD05-18g. Im not saying that Westward has a better dyno, infact I think the Dastek is a better dyno then the Mahle but there could be an operation or set up issue.

Dave Lewis ran an 18g turbo @ 1.5 or 1.6 bar of boost and produced 355bhp.

Rob / Scooby ran a smaller 16g turbo @ 1.3 bar of boost and got 366bhp.

I know its two different days and cars and but apart form the obvoius I dont feal the 16g can produce 366bhp at 1.3 bar. And I reckon its a world record if it really is that.

My type r made 309 bhp on TTM rollers last year on 95 R O N

and made 314 bhp on A.I rollers on E5 it was a very cold day so that seems about right to me... :ponder: :ponder:

Paul is that with the decat , fuel pump and map ? If so what ecu is it ? Apexi ?

I don't think scoobyke's turbo is a 16g!!! He mentioned somewere before that it is indeed rated for that kind of bhp with a link to the people he bought it off!
And as funnyclub said, the spec c's that litchfeild sell with those mods and remap are bang on what he got!
The auto's would be a different kettle of fish :ponder: :dunno:
And wetpatch thought he had a standard car   but it's not!
And I no the lack of a remap is a bit dodgy on scooby wrx's car but she is a 2.5 with a bigger intercooler, decat and induction!! Maybe the modern ecu is more adaptable than ecu's of old??
Sure it's a bit of craic!
Sure you have us all bet anyway damo
Dan

Hey Dan...iam running a 16g,but according to the guy i bought it from its a 16g big... :dunno: :dunno:

Yeah thats true but even still its alot, The compressor wheel in yours is a 68mm one where as the normal one is 60mm IIRC. Would be interesting to see if it does the same somewhere else. Either way its a quick car no doubht.

paul if its huzzys old car that you have :ponder: its the standard ecu remapped by ttm and it was the rolling road in waterford that it got 296 and it was on the rolling road in C.I.T. and got a different reading again so it got 3 three different readings so i don't think any rolling road is 100% accurate all i know is itsone of the fastest scoobies i've ever driven  and isn't that all that really matters :subaru:

Ok well then you would want to blank your whole rr thread where people put up there figures because if your questioning these figures who says anyone's figures are right.

Also when I had my evo 7 on westwards rr with only a induction kit and cat back I made 314bhp on the standard ecu when the car is meant to be 276bhp on jap fuel thats an increase of 38bhp and only on 95 fuel.
By fitting mods like bigger exhausts, induction kits better intercooler you boost will raise anyway with out you having to remap your ecu.

Also just on the 16g turbo thing damo evo's run 16g turbo's standard and can get up to 400bhp from them.

Rob hasent got an Evo Paul, its an Impreza. Its also running at 1.3 bar and not the same turbo so you cant compare. NO subaru fitment 16g can make 400bhp sorry.

The rolling road thread is a bit of fun, and the reason why you would question the figures from AI Autosport is because it has put out what seems to be an imposible figure for a turbo that cant take enough air to produce. That calls the operation or set up into question which puts a big question mark over the results on THAT DAY. Simple as that. Im not saying all the cars or most even have the wrong reading just that when you get what LOOKS like an impossible result it raises questions. I know there your mates and im not having a go at them or anything.

Damo

My 331bhp seemed a little high alright, but if it had of read 265bhp,i couldnt have given a sh7t,because it feels fast to me.A good day out regardless of any figures
