If you use the model code off the vin plate, ask the garage what it says, that will get you an accurate vrt price or should do anyway..

The reason I am saying its expensive is that you will get Uk Wide track Blobs for 7-9k and some Jdm wide wide tracks for 9k..

They will probably have 50-60k on them.. If the lower miles on the white car is worth that much extra I don't know really.
You will probably have to consider mapping the car for our 95 octane which will be another few quid,

I just think at the end of it you will have a jdm wide track standing you maybe 15k euro or more... While the odd one is sold here for 8-9k euro... Whether being a first owner since japan and low miles is worth that much to you that a personal choice...

These aren't really a collectors car, so mileage wouldn't be concern of mine..

Thanks again KENC, appreciate the help. Well I am not really committed to it until I get it, so I can still go for something else. What I like about this one is that it appears unmodified so I can "mod it my way" eventually; however this is not hard requirement. I did not realize that the price is on around +5k level compared to similar cars...

What would you advise? The red hawk is out of my budget really (with import, vrt, etc...).

This one looks good, but would I not have trouble getting it through NCT? (mods) What do you think about this one?

Alternatively I can also try to negotiate on the hurst offer. Btw I am not getting any warranty there either.

Lastly - good point on the mapping for 95. How much should I budget for that?

If I was you
I would buy a
rb320 on here beloning to username Ken
RB320-poster-page_08.jpg

or a
wr1 beloning to username keith dublin
WR1-poster-page_06.jpg

both here already
club cars
history fully known etc.
its a no brainer in my view
just walk away from that other one you have comitted to
and save yourself a fortune
hope this helps

I was also going to suggest the RB320. I think Ken went from a WR1 to the 320 didn't he?

The Rb320s are a lovely car.. But are they really worth 5-6k more than the normal Uk Hawk Sti??
And you still have the 2.5 road tax and that not so tough 2.5 motor.

You can probably get mapped for around 400 euro... Bit more if you want to use ecutek as you have to buy licence .
If you buy a uk model it will be ok fuel wise without map, if you mod it performance wise then it will need mapping of course.

If you could wait 2 months and wanted the excitement of importing your own car then you could have a mint Jdm Hawk Sti or maybe Spec C imported and vrtd, and probably for less than what that hurst car will stand you.. You will have no warranty but that's no different than hurst.

All depends on what it can be got for as you say
I think cars already here are worth looking at
as they are worth more over there than here so much better value over here
if you find the right one obviously
And off the top off my head they are 2 I can think off worth checking out that I personally know as good clean original untouched examples all be it irish / u.k. cars
If I was buying id be knocking on Keiths door its a low mileage mint example
and as you say 2.0
Its not for sale but im sure if a good offer was put to him he might sell it
like most on here
Thats just my 2 cents

Lads don't forget marko bucko's mint example blob type uk sti,
which hasn't been driven in around 3 years and has low miles and nice mods like an aps front mount and i think an uprated turbo, that and keith dublins car would be my pick and you dont have the hassle of vrt etc

Did he not have parts for sale ads up to put it back to standard before selling?

I figured the engine on that was gone hence why i didn't mention it
maybe im wrong as ive never seen it or met him personally
i figured it was sitting up due to engine failure

@ john he did but they were all parts he had to fit to the car but never got round to it,
as far as i know the car still has the aps front mount and bigger turbo and if anyone remembers it at cda a few years ago it made 376 on the dyno,
All that added to the low mileage i think leas than 30k makes it a very desirable car imo
@ colm he wasnt driving it as he was traveling up the m1 everyday for work and is since then is driving a diesel and the car hasn't been driven in a few years, all those bits were bought as part of a project he was going to do which included the lateral built 2.1 stroker in a cdb and uprated headers so on
